    I'm mixed on this.

The American public wants a speedy end to our occupation. They also want to reduce the cost burden of Iraq on our budget. There's no way the military can accomplish both ends while preserving blanket human rights for everyone.

They're using torture and questionable interrogation techniques to cut corners. Then again, it's the same critics who blame the military for not preventing suicide bombers.

Given the terrible state of security Iraq is in, I would support martial law. If any American city had that many bombings (2 today), it'd be in a state of emergency.

I'm going to be crass about this and say that the government isn't doing a great job balancing the Iraqi public's perception while maintaining security for them. Break too many Human Rights and the public will turn against you.

For our part, this boils down to whether you want the troops to leave or stay for the long haul.

I wouldn't wish this situation on any people, but if this plan of spreading democracy is going to work, we need an infrastructure in place.

    Exactly...

Talking about China doesn't change the fact that the human rights situation is still awful in Iraq. Furthermore, when did we get into the business of comparing countries to the lowest possible standard rather than comparing them to the best possible situation. I thought America was about being the moral leader of the world and pushing for the best standard rather than avoiding the worst.

Where did I highlight the negatives and not the positives?

Actually I provided a balanced response, saying that it was mixed. I purposefully left in the part about not overturning the results.

If you would like I can send you a vocabularly list to help you learn the meaning of words such as "mixed" which used in this context means both GOOD and bad. Just let me know.

Also, I am still waiting on you to answer why you believed the U.S. had killed Al-zawahiri but didn't celebrate that news.

I don't think I've ever doubted anyone's intelligence on this board, but after reading your quote again, I would question yours, if I knew you weren't just saying that stuff to be funny.

The part about the fraud not being enough to overturn the result is something that I directly mentioned in my own words.

    Here is the quote.
