That's not the only reason. When WCW was at its peak, it was because they had most of the story writers from the WWF (who went back with the WWF when WCW got rid of them). WCW shot itself in the foot when they got rid of those writers...the new writers didn't know what to do with the talent they had, and they started not using the talent they had (the established fan-favorite stars), started promoting the luche libres and other unknowns, not using the popular story lines anymore, and most importantly, creating HUGE dissention in the ranks of wrestlers. That was the downfall of WCW. It all started with the story writers.

The fact that Prince Iaukea (sp?) was given a push speaks volumes about WCW.

Buff was in the wwf, he sucked. I think Vince just knows how to market stars. Look at Booker T, Vince has turned him into a star. Goldberg, Steiner, and Sting would all be HUGE in the wwf. Vince knows how to do it.

You guys talk about WWF, but don't even get me started on the garbage that Vince McMahon was booking around 1990 and in the mid 90s when he almost went out of business (not exaggerating, the WWF LITERALLY almost went out of business) and the WWF is going down the same road now. The business slide they're facing is equal if not worse then the ones when they almost went out of business, but that's another thing for another time. Goldberg still has 2 years left on his AOL contract, and he would be a big boost to turning around the WWF but that's never going to happen. The nWo will never work in the WWF. The reason the nWo was so popular in the 90s was because it was new. Renegades who were unpredictable. The WWF is never unpredictable, they have to telegraph everything because they underestimate the intelligence of the WWF fans. Then people buy into the myth that most of WCW's stars were made in the WWF and that's not true. The reason the WWF is dying right now is because of the hatred WWF fans have for WCW. When they tried the WCW invasion the fans booed so badly that the WWF didn't even bother to bring in the Stings, and Goldbergs, and Lugers and Nashs and Halls. Why bother if the fans are going to boo them? Now the WWF is getting stale, and there is no where to go. There is no competition to keep the WWF on their toes, thus they have nothing to compare their product to and get better. Don't even get me started on the "Sports Entertainment" crap. I have to add Booker T isn't a star. The fans don't take him seriously, and nobody likes him. They don't think he's on any of the WWF guy's level and none of the WWF guys want to lose to him unless it makes them look better. Booker T is actually worse off now in the WWF then he was in WCW.

Sting will never be in WWF.
Goldberg will never be in the WWF.
Steiner might show up but his foot is still so hurt he can barely wrestle.
I have to agree that WWF is pretty predictable. I started watching the night that HHH kidnapped Stephanie but have religously watched since then and have learned the history of the WWF. I know who most of the WCW guys are and what storylines they were in.
The problem that I see with the WWF is that they have a problem with elevating talent. The only wrestler that I have seen elevated properly is Kurt Angle. Jericho is the undisputed champion and he is wrestling mid card guys. No one is worried about getting the championship at this time. I think that Benoit was on his way until he got hurt. He had some really great matches. I hope that Hall and Nash return just so that it shakes so things up. I just wish that things wouldnt get out and so it would be a better suprise. The surprise is what makes it so fun.

We get every PPV but we have friends come over and they supply the beverages. It is a pretty cool trade off because I would watch it regardless if anyone came over or not. Most of the time the PPV are worth getting. We think they are a ton of fun and this Royal Rumble is going to be a great one. I think that the card so far is shaping up like this:

Y2J vs Rock - WWF Undisputed Title
    Vince McMahon vs Ric Flair
Edge vs William Regal - IC Championship
Trish Stratus vs Jazz - Womens Championship
    30 Man Rumble with:
    - Triple H
    - Steve Austin
    - Undertaker
    - Kurt Angle
    - Golddust
    - Curt Hennig
    - Godfather
    - Val Venis
and 22 other guys that have not been named.

Val Venis is back? I remember he had an "affair" with the wife or girlfriend of the leader of Kai en tai (sp?) and they supposedly chopped his...off.

Whatever happened to the voodoo guy Papa Shango. He was my favorite. Remember when he put a spell on Ultimate Warrior.
    ----

There's a new game out on I think PS2 called Legends of Wrestling. It has all the old school wrestlers like Hulk, Million Dollar Man, and Bret Hart.

I htought Papa Shango ended up beating the Godfather? Maybe I'm wrong.

That beign said, Goldberg would be as big as the Rock or scsa in the wwf. He drew enormous ratings in the wwf. If anyone saw the last show where Vince announced the purchase of wcw, you would know how popular Goldberg is.

    Smeg --

IMHO, Pay-Per-Views are little more than glorified episodes of RAW but I've always enjoyed the Rumble....

...so yeah, dude, go for it...

...and ummmm, what time should I show up at your house? :D

    Papa Shango is/was the Godfather.

I remember the spell he cast on UW, when UW started spewing some weird crap out of his head.

No one is doubting that Goldberg would be a star in the WWF, the fact is he doesnt want to wrestle in the WWF and takes shots at them as often as possible. After the 9/11 incident he slammed the WWF for not helping in NY when the WWF used there WWF New York restaurant as a place for people to go to rest and eat or whatever they want for free. They had the wrestlers visit with the people and are still involved with the effort. The WWF just did not flaunt their efforts like other companies and Goldberg on his website said the reason that he isnt wrestling for the WWF is because they do not do enough for the community and especially now since they didnt help with the 9/11 effort. He then retracted his statement and said that the WWF was very involved and that he didnt know. Bottom line is that he doesnt want to wrestle for the WWF.

I don't know otherwise, so I won't dispute what you're saying, but I just can't imagine that he wouldn't want to wrestle for the WWF. Sure he's getting a lot of cash just sitting on his ass waiting for his contract to run out, but with WWF not as big as it was certainly he knows how much $$$ Vince would give him. He knows his own value, and he'd have to be a moron not to know the value of the WWF.

I went to WrestleMania here in Houston and so did many of my buddies. Some of my friends, being some of the last to finally leave the Dome, saw Sting, Hogan, and Goldberg coming down from the luxury boxes after the show. Personally, I think Goldberg's on his way.

    got the ppv

    Loved the Rumble

    Highlights for me were:
    • Flair kicking the Juiced-up McMahons butt (man could one guy be on anymore Steroids
    • Man, did the Rock get robbed, how much of a whiny b!tch has Jericho become, anyone remember when he was a good guy on WCW
    • The performance of the super freak Goldust
    • Maven eliminating the Undertaker
    • The Hardies Back
    • The surprise of Austin not winning and then him going Nutso with Chairs after the rumble and again on raw
    • what the hell is Perfect doing back
    • At least Angle didn't win, although i thought he was going to cry on Raw

RAw the day after was also good, anyone think Jericho will last till Wrestlemania, sure TripleH has a big following but it will be surprising if one of Rock or Austin isn't in the big match.

And what was McMahon on about saying he will do something that everyone will regret, my guess is it bringing back nwo!!!

My only complaint with the Rumble was that there was only, what, five guys at one time in the ring? WTF? It's the Rumble, dammit. There should be some big time brawling going on.

    Otherwise, pretty good.

did anybody go to the House Show on that one Sunday? Maan, the laptop arena was empty. The floor was filled, and the lower bowl sides were filled, and the upper bowl side seats were some what full.

    It was a good card.

Did anybody go to WrestleMania last Apil, and Axess? That sht was fun.

Did anyone go to the September 13 Smackdown! show? That was a nice show under the circumstances.

And on the return of Nash and Hall. Nash is one lazy mother. He is not going to show up at shows. Hall is to drunk and high t perform. Hogan, man just look at him. He's 55 years old or something. I have always hate Hogan since 87 or 86 or whenever. He tells us to take our vitamins, say our prayers, he can take his rogaine, and viagra and stick them up his ass. He basically ruined WCW. He and head management wouldn't push the lower card people into main event status (Chris Jericho, hence, him jumping ship, Eddie Guerrero, Chris Benoit.) The Cruiserweights were great, but it turned to crap just like that.

    I did.

Uhhh....Hogan hasn't done the good guy, take-your-vitamins bit in several years. He didn't ruin WCW, either. Read my post above: it was the writers and management who ruined WCW.

I went to live show at the Erwin Center. It sucked. The only way I'll go again is for Raw or Smackdown.
