No. It was an analogy. You are opportunistically blaming a guy at the top for something that was done halfway around the world-- through numerous chains of commands... and the evidence is uncertain.

    a·nal·o·gy ( P ) Pronunciation Key (-nl-j)
    n. pl. a·nal·o·gies

    1. Similarity in some respects between things that are otherwise dissimilar.
    2. A comparison based on such similarity. See Synonyms at likeness.

The President seems to think the missing explosives are important. Are you guys calling Bush a liar or a hypocrite?

"This investigation is important and it's ongoing"
    http://www.mercurynews.com/mld/mercurynews/news/special_packages/election2004/10031060.htm

Bush also flip flops wildly in the same speech so you may not want to trust him.

    Bush
    ...
And a political candidate who jumps to conclusions without knowing the facts is not a person you want as your commander-in-chief."

But Ret. Gen. Wesley Clark, speaking for the Kerry campaign, turned the phrase back on Bush, saying it was the president who is unfit for office.

"He jumped to conclusions about any connection between Saddam Hussein and 9/11. He jumped to conclusions about weapons of mass destruction. He jumped to conclusions about the mission being accomplished. He jumped to conclusions about how we had enough troops on the ground to win the peace," Clark said.

"And because he jumped to conclusions, terrorists and insurgents in Iraq may very well have their hands on powerful explosives to attack our troops, we are stuck in Iraq without a plan to win the peace, and Americans are less safe both at home and abroad."

The Colonel from the 101st Airborne who were the first to arrive at the sight, said there was no sign of looting.

The Iraqis say it was impossible for the looting to have occurred prior to the invasion.

If anyone has egg on their face for this story it's those who claimed that the weapons were looted prior to our arrival.

Russia tied to Iraq´s missing arms; Pentagon: Weaponry relocated before war

"Russian special forces troops moved many of Saddam Hussein's weapons and related goods out of Iraq and into Syria in the weeks before the March 2003 U.S. military operation, The Washington Times has learned. John A. Shaw, the deputy undersecretary of defense for international technology security, said in an interview that he believes the Russian troops, working with Iraqi intelligence, “almost certainly” removed the high-explosive material that went missing from the Al-Qaqaa facility, south of Baghdad"

Now that's a good one. How did the Russian troops get there? How did they slip past the no fly zone in the north and the south or the US carrier groups to the north and south?

    Huh?

This is very, very serious sh*t if it's true. That's utter betrayal by a supposed ally. I can't say I believe it's true though- I'd like to know what Mr. Shaw has to back this up. If the administration runs with this as it's excuse, then they are going to have to really get nasty with Mr. Putin.

Look at a map that shows the no fly zones. If this theory was true, they had to have help from a country geographically adjacent to Iraq ( Saudi Arabia/Iran/Turkey/Kuwait/Jordan/etc) and you believe the US Navy and US Air Force are incompetent.

Somebody better tell Kerry. His whole campaign this week has been based on lies. He should quit letting the media do his dirty work for him and maybe find his own dirt.

    What a joke.

I think you were joking in this thread. His whole campaign hasn't been based on this one mistake by the Bush folks. Obviously the non-fact about those sneaky Russians getting in and getting the explosives is a huge joke. Drudge just hasn't been right in a long time.

    It wasn’t our fault!
They were gone before we got there!
Saddam moved them before the war!
They were stolen after we got there!
We weren’t told to look for them!
    It was those sneaky Russians!

    What’s next?

    LOL!!!

The first U.S. military unit to reach the site in Iraq where U.N. officials say 377 tons of high explosives are missing did not carry out a hunt for such material, the unit's commander (Col. Dave Perkins) said on Wednesday.

"Perkins said the key concern at the time was whether there were any weapons of mass destruction, particularly chemical weapons, and that a white powdery substance found at the site proved to be a WMD false alarm."

So they were looking for WMD material, but ignored buildings with big IAEA seals on the doors? I think this makes the first report, that a thorough inventory was not done but that no IAEA sealed bunkers were found, more likely.
