It wasn't just the big shot. Routinely during the game, he kept referring to the Mavs as "we" and a few times caught himself and changed it to "they". No one uses "we" in reference to a team they don't get a boner for.

I think more than anything he was happy the ball finally found Marion, as Marion had been wide open the entire night and the Mavs never did pass him the ball. Hubie is a great commentator.

Hubie is like a nice old grandpa that loves the game so you let his goofs and mistakes go. Not a big deal.

He's also considered pretty universally as one of the best coaches in history. Lots of things bothered me about the game last night Hubie Brown is not one of them.

Hubie is great. I watched the whole game, and I didn't notice any particular bias towards the Mavs. I mean, you can always look at one individual call that you may disagree with him about, but that is not evidence of a pro-Mav bias.

i got a good laugh out of this thread. because going as far back as the early 90's, some friends and i used to always clown whoever got hubie brown doing the TNT telecast of their favorite team's game.

"haha scrub u got hubie working ur orlando tragic game tonite."

[in a nasaly voice] "and now, in penny hardaway, one of the premier dynamic point guards that we have in the game today. i mean, this guy is dynamite. 6'7'' with long arms"

I think it's more about senility than bias.

He made a couple of comments on replays that were so wrong I just laughed. One replay shows Harden get karate chopped across the arm and as it is playing he says "all ball". It was so stupid you have to laugh instead of get annoyed.

Wow, I thought he was very much a Rocket's fan through most of the game. He even called out a number of missed calls they he thought we should have received. I fast forwarded through most of the 4th because I suspected we would blow another game(and unfortunately was right) but I bet the enthusiasm he showed for the Mavericks was just him being a commentator watching a team make an improbable comeback.
