BTW, I googled my touchscreen issue with my Nexus One a bit, and some said it will cease the freak-out after removing the battery for 60+ seconds. So I did that and my touchscreen hasn't freaked out in a few days. Now I have ZERO issues with my phone!
Droid Incredible. Should be release on April 29. <object width="640" height="385"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/bxGgc-RbhWg&hl=en_US&fs=1&"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/bxGgc-RbhWg&hl=en_US&fs=1&" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="640" height="385"></embed></object>
I've been using Windows Mobile since my second smartphone kicked in for my loss of Nokia, which served as my first cell on about a 2 year term. It's pretty stable at times but sometimes it just went dead like a normal computer did with small ram and cpu hertz, that bugs me all the time and if you run too many programs in the background, that's gonna cause you a whole lot of trouble. I'm still planning to get myself a new Android phone, but right now the scale of my choice weighs toward the other, that is, Palm Pre Plus.
The hd2 is sold out and it no longer appears to be on the tmobile website. WM kind of sucks and it crashes to much, but at least the hd2's hardware makes up for it.
i think EVO is coming out this summer.. i'm thinking of switching from Palm Pre to EVO.. very intrigued about the new Sense UI and the android 2.1... does anyone know if there are added costs for getting 4g connection on the EVO?
My G1 is crapped out and i can't decide between the iphone HD2 or the nexus one, my main concern is the contracts with either att or tmobile. my g1 is a company phone but i'm leaving soon and need to get my own contract and all that good stuff. any advice would be cool...because i really want the nexus one.
after some searching it seems that it could be a 10-20$ added cost to jump on the 4g... http://www.knowyourcell.com/news/451140/best_buy_could_begin_htc_evo_4g_preorders_starting_in_may.html
If you dont want a contract, you could shell out the $ 500 and get the unlocked Nexus. You can save in the long run this way as you could then get a cheaper plan if you wanted. I did not want to shell out the money up front and signed the 2 year contract. The way I look at it, I will not have any problem enjoying the heck out of the Nexus for 2 years. And so far, its been a damn good phone!
Been using a HD2 for a couple of days. The UI is HORRIBLE. It makes for an awful user experience and it still doesn't have flash. Thank God I didn't buy this phone. It's like a Lexus Body with a Ford Pinto interior and steering wheel.
CEO of Sprint, Dan Hesse, stated that the use of 4G on the EVO will be free (included in your plan). The EVO comes out June 13th
From what I read the $10-$20 per month extra would be for connecting multiple WiFi devices (up to 5) to use the 4G/3G connection from your Evo.
Thanks for the advice! Did you do any calculations on this? If so, how much are you able to save without the contract as opposed to with?
Read this article, according to which you can save more when buying it unlocked: http://www.gadgetopolis.com/posts/7315 However, me and my sister were able to get on the family plan right away, which eased us into signing the 2 year contract. We got the basic 750 mins (tmobile to tmobile and nights and weekends unlimited helps), unlimited texts for both phones, and 2 data plans, for $ 140 total (59.99 for minutes, 30 each for data, 10 each for unlimited texts).
That is sick. I just kinda assumed that you needed the "Android data plan" for Android phones, no matter where you bought them from. Looks like I have a new birthday wishlist.
It's funny because I was using a Blackberry before, so my plan with T-Mobile is with my Blackberry ($25/mo unlimited). I got my Nexus One and it is fully functional on T-Mobile, but I'm still paying only for the Blackberry plan. Teehee. So, if you have a Blackberry, just order the Nexus One through Google for the full $530 and you'll save $10/mo because you don't have to tell T-Mobile you have a Nexus One and apparently they won't notice. Over a 2-year contract, that's a cool $240 in savings.
I have been using hd2 for a few weeks. Now looking back at my iphone it feels so much smaller. Like going from 24 in monitor to 17in one. WinMo still sucks compared to apple, but surfing the internet and watching video is awesome.
for T mobile- If I get a discounted phone the plan I would want would cost 80 and if I pay up front for a phone and get the EM+ it would be only 60 a month. So that is 20 bucks less and that equals 480 less in two years enough to buy a good phone on eBay or around here.
