This really is the only phone you really need to get... I promise you you'll never lose it. As for apps... If you throw it at someone, it's an instant kill!
are you talking about the contract I would be in if I went with an upgrade or are you talking about the contract I would get if I held out for the HD3?
Sorry, I am wrong. It would not be too bad a decision to get a non-wimax phone today as it would be more than 2 years before T-Mobile has a WiMax network in place.
If you can wait, I think you should. Perhaps this summer/fall, more phones (such as the HD3, or HTC Desire) could be released.
But when those get released, there will be a slew of new phones on the horizon that are more enticing. It's a never-ending cycle if you play the wait-for-a-better-product game. The Nexus One is a quality phone and will be good for a long time since Google will inevitably support it heavily.
I currently have a 2G iPhone unlocked with T-Mobile but if I were making a decision to purchase the N1 or the HD2 I would probably go with the N1 because of Windows Mobile and Windows Mobile ONLY. Specs/design wise the HD2 owns the N1. Like another posted alluded to, the N1 will likely be supported by Google for a long time, the HD2 is likely going to be ignored by HTC once Windows Phone 7 comes out.
If this is a major selling point for you, than look no further. Nothing on the market beats Google Navigation. Not only is it free but its the best out there. Uses google maps so the POIs are endless. Turn by turn navigation, No need to download monthly/yearly map updates and oh yeah, best of all is that its all free! The beauty of android is that even the original android phone, G1, can take advantage of google maps navigation.
That is very true. Me personally tho, a 720p video camera is a huge selling point (since I plan on getting a computer with a Blu-Ray burner) so I am going to wait til later this year when I can get a phone that has this.
Man, if I wanted to shoot 720p video and burn it to a BD-R, I certainly wouldn't use a phone for it, regardless of whether it shot 720p video or not. To each his own, I suppose.
I have a hd2 and its camera is supposed to 5mp, but it isn't really better then like a 3 mp camera i had like 5 years ago. With the ****ty lenses they use I doubt you will be able to get good video.
Yeah, phone video just isn't very good. It's there for ad-hoc stuff, not pretty video you want to put on a BD-R (which are $3-4 each). The 720p functionality is just to attract buyers... it'll still look like crap, just be a 720p resolution.
more like hd2 is likely to be ignored by htc once they acquire palm and start using webos on their hardware. anyhow, i hear of reception issues w/the nexus one. also android has been having issues with their devices and fragmentation of the os (too many versions of the os out on different devices... some not upgradeable, some saying that they'll be updated but never are, etc. hd2 has winmo 6(or 6.5?). that should be enough of a deterrent. so... i'd give the edge to nexus, but i'd tell you to consider holding off to get an android device (incredible on verizon or supersonic on sprint) or switch to another carrier to get a pre plus (although palm may be bought out, webos i'm pretty sure will stick around with whoever buys them... it's that good of an os).
i probably can... and probably better than you. care to take a look at stock the last couple of weeks? research. do you have a palm device or took a fair amount of time to mess around with one? or do you just post what you read? i'll bite. palm had hardware issues with sprint. corrected issues with verizon (and att in may/june). has since launched the device in several markets overseas and continues to expand it to more. hardware issues with the first pre on sprint (not the pre plus) gave it a bad rep stateside. marketing sucked donkey balls (putting that lightly) at a time when droid/nexus/3gs/etc was released soon after. just do a little research the webos and what folks have to say about it. to be fair, also search on hardware problems. webos fanboy? maybe. actually started dabbling in the app development. however, i'm not dumb enough to say that android is bunk or that winphone 7 will not be the schit. /bait and hook.
Yeah but your phone is literally everywhere. Not trying to shoot movies, just if something crazy breaks out, you can have it. And have it in HD.
Thanks for the info everyone. I'm gonna go for the nexus one if possible. I'll keep the HD2 as my second option.
