Downhill Skiing - Was on the area's racing team for 9 years or so. Traveled all around eastern Canada competing in various races. I was a lot better at the high speed events like the Downhill and Super G as opposed to Slalom. Only won one Slalom medal in my career; I always used to blow out. Good times. Volleyball - Was the team's starting middle blocker throughout high school. Had a great front court game (blocking/spiking) but couldn't bump worth a damn. Sometimes when I rotated into the back court, the coach would replace me with another guy who was a better back court player. When he rotated back to the front, he'd switch me back in. Basketball - Didn't have much of a team, but it was still fun. I was the starting center. My favorite part of basketball was (and still is) blocking shots.
Soccer (left wing), for Kubasaki Dragons (against the locals) Soccer (halfback), for Sukiran Knights (within HighSchool play) -
Cross Country - I was the #3 runner(Only joined because I was sleeping with our #1 girl and wanted to show how easy it was.) Tennis - #1 Doubles team, so esentially the 4th best player behind the 3 singles players. I got ISS the same day they were going to let me play #2 singles and therefore wasn't allowed to play. Soccer - Played for Sacred Heart which is our local Catholic church(I'm not Catholic, but my best friend asked me to play with his church) in a league that plays against private schools and other organized teams. Played everywhere but Goalie, but spent most of my time as a mid-fielder. Basketball - Played in my church league while I was in highschool. Played mostly SG, with some PG & SF. I really wanted to run track, but you could only play one fall, winter, and spring sport each at our school, and I certainly wasn't good enough for our varsity team, though I beat a couple of the JV players. Almost transferred to private school on an athletic scholarship because I thought it would be cool to star at every sport. The school was very tiny, and the football team consisted of 13 players. I actually practiced with them during the summer, and my friend Billy was the only one worth a crap on their football team.
Played varsity soccer -- was offered a spot on the football team as the kicker, but didn't want that stigma. Not playing football was a huge mistake though - a guy on my Division I soccer team ended up kicking 4 years for the Aggies.
Soccer 2 years (Regional Champs), Football 2 years, Basketball 1 year, Tennis 1 year (District Doubles Champion)
But now he's an Aggie for life and what kind of life is that? Also played soccer and was also asked at least 4 or 5 times a year to play football.
4 years of baseball, 1 year each of basketball and wrestling, 2 years of XC Bad at basketball, good enough to start in baseball (our team was pretty bad though), okay wrestler (tough weight class), still running in college
Yeah, I did the whole tryout with one of the coaches -- I was light years better than the guy on the team. They wanted me to take care everything punting, kick offs, and field goals. I should have done it - big mistake.
in middle school, I was always in the "Athletics" classes vs. plain old Gym Class or PE. The athletics class was always first or last period and it was all the track runners, football players, and other student athletes. I was on long distance track in 7th and 8th grade but I don't remember ever competing in a meet. the coaches hated that, I was always up front with the guys who were running competitively, but I never pushed myself to take it to the next level. it was my way of showing them that I had the goods but I didn't want to be a part of their little charade. in 9th and 10th grade, I joined the JV Tennis team. I was ranked 6th, enough to compete in tournaments. I don't remember winning many matches. all my teammates stayed and joined the Varsity squad. I went on to advanced Bongonomics.
I played in basketball in high school started at the 2 guard, my brother plays d1 ball too was a teammate of bayless from the blazers too man that guy was great to watch.baby bro is not star but he does get some pt this year, his player bio says his favorite team is the rockets too so im proud of the guy haha a true fan
Volleyball - I was too short at 5'9, but I was the best player on our team in high school. That just tells you how bad our team was. I would have really enjoyed playing the libero position. Basketball - I tried hard but was a bench-warmer. Badminton - won a couple gold medals in county in boys doubles in junior high. Golf - I started a little late, but I'm going to be pretty good one of these days. Football - never played on a team, but I'd love to be a strong safety.
