    I was doing 78 in a 55 on HWY 90 near 610

he wrote me down for 65 in a 55...

    now I can either

    1) pay straight up - $227 and then insurance raised
    2) do deferred disposition - pay $227 and no insurance raise - off the record

    OR

request a trial either by JURY or judge...

What are my chances of having the cop not show if I get the court date a few months from now?

get the date of your hearing changed. Cops usually schedule all their ticket cases for the same day, theory being if you schedule it for a different day there's a good chance that he won't show and it'll get dismissed

don't see the point of even bother going to trial. People always say the cop might not show up but i've never actually met someone where this was true. Heck, he gave you a break by documenting that the mph was lower than actual.

You're guilty and you know it. Pay the fine and do deferred.

This is easy. Ask for trial by jury. If the cop shows up, tell the prosecutor you wanted a trial by judge. Then you can choose from the other options.

Deferred disposition. If you fail and get another ticket, it ends up being just like pleading guilty/no contest and paying the fine.

If you don't mind having to do a couple of court appearances over the next year or two, hire Paul Kubosh. $35 got my last ticket dismissed a couple of years ago.

I got a ticket while driving an ambulance! Damn cop on Ella. Pulled me over and everyone around me was going faster. I was doing 40 in a 35. Anyway, the cop tells me the way to get out of it is ask for trial by judge, and then if he (the cop) doesn't show up it gets dismissed. If he does show up, plead no contest and then you can take def driving.

So the ******* writes me a damn ticket, then tells me how to get out of it. I did what he said, and he didn't show up. Ticket was dismissed and I didn't have to pay anything.

When he asks you "Do you know why I pulled you over?" Simply point at the box and say....cuz you could smell it!!!
