Your first line was so absurdly wrong that it made the rest of your post irrelevant. Yes GSW needs to dump $34 million in expiring contracts to even have a Sign & trade be possible, the Lakers have stated time and again that they are not doing a sign & trade for Dwight, to any team. Their whole plan is to shed as much salary as possible if they are not going to be competitive this year. They do not want to add any salary. At some point, and most analysts agree, it is almost better for the franchise and its future to let D12 walk outright, rather than add salary in S&T that would put them above the luxury tax line and make them pay the repeater super fines. They WILL NOT do this for anything short of a championship squad, and they will not have that this year, no matter what. Gasol is coming off surgery, Kobe is coming off major surgery and probably wont be 100% until following season, if he ever is again. S&T would require at least Bogut, one of Klay/Barnes, 1 or 2 1st rounders, and possibly another player off the bench. That eliminates future additions to GSW to MLE and vet mnimum additions. D12 does not want to be in a situation like that. GSW would also have to get rid of Richard Jefferson's $11 mil expiring contract, and Biedrins $9 mil expiring contract. There is a reason they haven't been able to offload these expiring contracts already. NOBODY wants them. They would have to get rid of these contracts and give LA whatever it wants for D12, and have the Lakers actually wanna ignore a massive luxury bill for the non-contender they will role out next, something they have repeatedly stated they wont do for anything short of a championship.. GSW is not gonna happen for Dwight. He is coming to Houston.
well no, technically speaking teams must speak 90% of their cap every year, that's in the CBA, so teams can not just run 30 m rosters out there every year. they're contractually obligated to run 50m rosters, even if that means overpaying guys. still, that doesn't mean they have to help GSW out here, if I'm those other teams, I'm asking for at least a first round pick to "help" GSW, but then the league might shoot that down due to the lack of fair value. Also, GSW was not clearly a better team than Houston this year, they had worse points differential for one thing. and especially not if they blow up most of their roster to get him.
Lakers= He hates, coach, system and star player Mavericks= little talent and too old Warriors= No cap and that's not changing Hawks= Not talented enough and no direction Rockets= Star in prime maybe twoish, cap, young, rising, buzz, coach (doesn't hurt he has been chased for like two years) He has only one options
LOL no way. Even if they fired D'Antoni, it would take time to hire a new coach, Dwight isn't gonna wait and see who it is.
Technically, GS can do a 3-team deal with just one willing to take Bogut off their hand without sending back salaries. GS gets Howard on max deal. Lakers get Barnes. 3rd team gets Bogut + picks from GS.
are you kidding me? Dwight's conflict with coach actually is a relatively small issue. The key problem is the conflict between DH12 and Kobe. So as long as Kobe is still the Lakers #1 player, DH12 will leave.
Dwight wanted to try and make a decision by Friday, it's not gonna happen because if Warriors are in the race - Dwight probably still keeps contact with all the teams - he's going to wait for them to clear cap space. If goes to the Warriors, that's fine, I'd take them over Houston as well and proves money is not an issue which shouldn't cause he would still be getting $50 million +!!
Monday: He wants championship; Tuesday: He wants money; Wednesday: He wants championship; Thursday: He wants money; Friday: He doesn't know what to do ...... Saturday: Hello, everybody, lets talk again.
We should probaly expect it around daytime. I'd be surprised if we don't find out before dinner today, tomorrow, or by this weekend. Not only is he hurting teams, but also his fellow players. I'm sure Josh Smith wants a home by now.
