He didn't ditch Yao Ming, he was let go after JVG was replaced. LMAO, to this day I don't think Yao Ming learned a single thing from Ewing. The dude just sponged off of JVG.

Carlos Boozer is a mercenary. He bailed from Cleveland when the Jazz offered him more dough, and he'll bail on the Jazz when someone ponies up the $$$.

I don't think he considers the Rockets the enemy any more than he bleeds purple and white. This is the dude who sat out 3 months due to a sore pinky after all.

i seriously doubt he's charging money to help nba players.

he's just giving back to the game and keeping the integrity of the center position.

just watch his hall of fame speech again. he talks about the paint.

No shortly before JVG was replaced, he "retired" stating that he needed time with his family or something. Late next year, he's back on another team's bench. So much for family. I don't know if Yao learned anything frow Ewing, but he certainly got better while he was here.

Except that Yao Ming when talking about JVG's departure basically thanked everyone but Ewing, the dude who was supposed to be primarily responsible for training him.

Didn't really matter why he left, I was just happy he was gone. Never could stand seeing the enemy in Rockets gear. A Knick? In Rockets colors? Made me sick to my stomach. JVG brought all his Knick buddy's over with him, the Knicks? Really? Just lost my breakfast!?!?!?

The day JVG was given the boot, Tracy was given the boot and all the trash JVG brought with him made my day, a clean slate. Fresh a new beginning. Ahhh Life is great!! :)

O.K. This is probably apples to oranges...

It's not that uncommon for pro golfers to seek advice and help from their peers if they think they can improve or correct bad habits/mistakes in their game. But despite this, I think even if Jack Nicklaus had tried to help any 10 players on the circuit, would they then become a Jack Nicklaus? Hakeem was Hakeem. He might be able to help other pro players, but it would be rare to see any of them become as good as him.
