I hope this doesn't happen. Barkley would be proven right.
We need someone with solid handles

The more I think about it, it could happen. Lin is shooting a career best 37% three point percentage. Right now Lin is probably looking back with fond memories of playing in Houston. Lin probably realizes he will never be the first option on any team, and that he had a nice role with the Rockets.

It's going to be interesting to see what he can earn on the open market.

I could definitely see it happening in the offseason.

In a scenario where the Rockets trade for a PG (say Dragic) and then decide they want to keep Josh Smith, adding anyone to the roster is going to be difficult. Guys who will play for low salaries will be instrumental because the best you can hope for is that you have some MLE money left that Josh Smith doesn't eat. Worst case scenario is Smith takes the entire MLE and you have nothing to spend on anyone to improve the team.

    Here are the facts :

ZTE became Rockets' official sponsor 2 season ago.

The first year : they choose Parsons as their spokesman, not Lin.

The second year, after Parsons left and Lin got traded : they choose Bev.

Lin's marketing value is a joke.

I would take him at less than 2 million per year. Oh wait, no… his fans suck. Please no. Jeremy maybe… his fans no.

The only chance for the Rockets will sign Lin back will be this scenario :

    - Dwight is having a career ending surgery and retired at Aug.
    - Harden war arrested in a strip club and sentenced for 3 years in jail.
    - TJ stepped on another homeless man outside the same strip club and lose feeling on both leg this time.
    - Dmo give up his NBA career and open a seafood restaurant to sell oyster only.
    - Bev begin his new career as a priest.
    - Ariza got traded for Nick Young.
    - Morey extend Dorsey for 4 more years with MAX.
    - And also, of course, getting Lin to start a new era of Rockets basketball.

While the Rockets may very well still be high on Lin, it sure doesn't hurt to express interest in about-to-be free agent PGs, when you're looking for leverage in trade talks that involve other point guards.

Just saying. Things usually get leaked for a reason.

How about you mention how terrible he is at turning the ball over???:rolleyes:

We literally lost 2 playoff games last year (and almost 3) because of Lin's r****ded azz. I'd rather bring MATT MALONEY back then have Jeremy Lin playing for us. We can't afford to have Lin cost us anymore playoff series

    That's a good point.

It could also be a ploy from Lin's camp to reignite the bromance with the Chandlers in Dallas..
