Let's not overlook how trying last season was as well. Basically it became the Ariza and Brooks show near the end. You then come back, you can't score an extension while your competition gets a fat contract, and you get injured 5 games in. Then to top it all off, the team is in shambles and you lose your starting spot. Even the best of players would have lost their composure. AB was immature about a lot of the situation, no doubt, but to give up that 1-2 punch of AB and Lowry so quickly, it doesn't sit right.

What scares me about this move is that Brooks was one of the few players Morey pulled straight from the draft and let go of years later. The players we draft we don't retain. This can only mean the 4 picks we have this year won't really have an impact for a very very long time. Spotting talent is not our strong point. Spotting trade-able talent is. Is this what the Rockets will always be, a team of trading players in and out, selling high and buying low but never really escaping the plagues of mediocrity?

All I know is in the last 3 years it's basically been ever player can be traded. Heck, this year the untradable Yao was thrown into the mix. There's absolutely no security here, and that doesn't seem like a conducive model for forming a team.

I'm undecided. I honestly think the Rockets are building towards 2012-2013. If nothing of impact happens then, I'd consider starting from scratch and letting go of Morey... that's if the world doesn't end.

i know picks are good but none of them is good enough for us to convert all of assets into a superstar. we are still where we are. no other will have any interest in our assets. all trades to me are just for a trade b4 deadline and meaningless.

I gave him a B, but I'm having second thoughts after being schooled on twitter about the art of business and basketball.

...So since infinitely wise basketball experts are calling for a new owner after these trades I'll change my vote to B++

This is probably the best response so far. Nothing was there for the taking that would net us the "superstar" we all want, so we went with lesser deals that netted us solid draft picks without giving up much.

C+. We picked up a couple of late first round draft picks for expiring contracts. Nothing too exciting. I don't think we would have resigned either Battier or Brooks anyway. Brooks for Dragic was a sideways move, so we basically got a free pick from Phoenix.

A first round draft pick and Thabeet is better than nothing. This trade reminds me of the deal for Lowry. Aging starter (Alston) that knows system gets traded and oddly the coach is forced to play the young guy (Brooks) with potential.

Brooks can't play next to Martin and frankly has been disappointing this season.

I would say okay as the Rockets got draft picks.

Hey Morey pulled off the number 2 pick (THabeet) and number 8 pick (Hill) in last years draft!!!! Unfortunately it may be the two biggest busts of that draft....But gotta give him an A for the nerve to be so stoopid!!!!!!!

I will give him an INC for now. I like the move for Dragic. As far as Thabeet and protected first rounder for Battier and Ish, that kind of makes me sad. I expected Battier to net us more, but the teams that could actually use him do not have the players or assets we need. Thabeet gives us at the very least a shot blocker and rim protector, at least until he fouls out of the game.

Should have got Darko while he was at it. Maybe we could make a all bust team here in Houston and just suck for the next decade like the T-wolves I'm sure everyone would love that.

Brooks' deal is good; Battier's deal is very very very bad.

I want to kick Morey's ass.

What the heck are you talking about? Kwame Brown is who he should have picked up. That and resign SF3 again.

    We did not get better.

    We did not get worse.

We got 2 first rounders AND hopefully some pt for Twill.

not to mention a lotto ticket's chance of a decent 7'3" center

How exactly did we rebuild??...We still have the players that put up the points this season...Only thing we lost was a "face" guarding wingman with limited offense and a "matador" defensively challenged 2guard who couldnt breakdown a defense without trippin over himself

Apparently a 2013 first rounder. Damn. He look OK. Would definitely like to have seen a bigger name, but he didn't make a bad trade. On either.
