1. LeBron James 2. Kobe Bryant 3. Dwayne Wade 4. Kevin Durant 5. Chris Paul 6. Deron Williams 7. Carmelo Anthony 8. Chris Bosh 9. Dwight Howard 10. Derrick Rose 11. Dirk Nowitzki 12. Pau Gasol 13. Joe Johnson 14. Danny Granger 15. Tim Duncan That's my list, TD is quickly decending down the list due to age and this playoffs is showing it. I'm sure people are dropping CP3 too but he's still top 5 when healthy on my list.
Kobe -4 championships DWade -champion Lebron-needs to win a championship before considered the best Yao- best center while in the NBA/ all around game DHoward- Inconsistant, but future of the NBA needs to work on game Dirk- all around game/best foward IMO in the league today KDurant- up and coming great player, better than Lebron IMO, needs mustle DWilliams-awesome all arounf PG, ahead of Paul, has proven more than CP Melo- great player, needs Defense, shots to much, needs to post up more CP3- great player, needs a team, needs playoff series wins TDuncan- Hall of famer, top 15 player KG- Champion, use to be my favorite, but is a complete dush B.Roy- very smooth future champion player Amare- selfish player but very fun to watch S.Nash- best PG ever but needs D to win a championship
We have a winner (for the worst list)! Kobe and Wade are above Lebron because they've won championships, but you still keep Yao above Howard despite less playoff success and serious injury history? Kevin Durant is better than Lebron? And to top it all off, Steve Nash is better than Magic Johnson?!
Top 15 is too many. How about top 5? LeBron James Kevin Durant Dwight Howard Chris Paul Dwyane Wade Kobe falls somewhere in the 10-20 range. No way can he even scratch the top 5, let alone the #1 spot, at this point in his career.
No Steve this is your winner, so you're telling me that you'd take Dwight Howard that could easily foul himself out of a game in the first quarter over Kobe?? I'm no Kobe lover, but that's just ridiculous and to have him at around 10-20 is just dumb.
In Order: 1.LeBron James 2.Dwyane Wade 3.Kobe Bryant 4.Kevin Durant 5.Dwight Howard 6.Carmelo Anthony 7.Deron Williams 8.Dirk Nowitzki 9.Brandon Roy 10.Tim Duncan 11.Chris Bosh 12.Steve Nash 13.Amare Stoudemire 14.Chris Paul (Just because he's been hurt.) 15.Derrick Rose
In no order after 1 and 2: LeTravel Wade Anthony Howard Bosh Bryant Dirk Timmy D Deron Williams Joe Johnson Pierce Bosh Amare' (even if his defense is suspect) Paul (even with the injuries) *Yao* *Not sure after the last injury...but I suspect his game willl decline a good bit. Much to the dismay of clutchfans *flamesuit on*
Say it after me: E-f-f-i-c-i-e-n-c-y. Kobe doesn't have it. Even in his prime he was not one of the most efficient shooters, and his efficiency is way worse now than it was a few years ago. The mark of a great scorer is quality AND quantity. Kobe only has the latter, these days.
Any list where LeBron is clearly not #1 is wrong. It's not even a matter of opinion this season. Keep your stupid hats in the closet and approach the topic with a subjective mindset. I'm not sure if there's been an obvious best player for a an entire season in recent years. It's ridiculous how much above of the competition he is. My top 6 would go, in order: 1) LeBron 2) Wade 3) Kobe 4) Durant 5) Melo 6) Dwight Howard After that, I think it's all up for grabs.
You keep your efficiency and I'll take the better player any day. Please show me your "efficiency" numbers, are you talking shooting percentage? Assist per game? Turnovers per game? FT percentage? From what I see Kobe's been extremely efficient throughout his career. http://www.nba.com/playerfile/kobe_bryant/career_stats.html Again, I'm not KOF but this is just craziness, he's better than what you're making him out to be.
Thank you for illustrating my point for me. Yes, going be a variety of statistics both mundane and advanced, Kobe's efficiency is just above average and not elite. Since efficiency is one of the most important (if not the most important) element of playing basketball, that takes down his stock quite a bit. Now, Kobe is a good defender, and the fact that he maintains above average efficiency with one of the highest usage rates in the league makes him a star. But he is still vastly overrated and he is not in the top ten players in the league at this point in his career, IMO.
I wonder how Durant is ranked outside of Texas. I think he is good, but its I feel like you guys often put him a little too high up there.
Your argument is still not making sense, those numbers are far from average compared to other players in the league. I see you don't have any stats your looking at you're just going by your personal "efficiency" rating and the list I provided above is for the entire league, now I'm done.
I know two guys from up north who is very high on him. One has been saying since the beginning of the year that Kevin Durant will have a better career than LeBron. I disagree, but outside of Texas people definitely think high of him.
Dirk and Durant are better than LeBron? And Nash is the best PG ever? Really? The stats say otherwise.
Pretty much my list. Although I would have to put Yao in there (probably over Amare). Without Yao this year, we basically had a 'sit out'/developing season. He means that much.
I love how everybody who defends Kobe's supposed status as a top 3 player never gives any reason for doing so beyond his championships. That's a great way to know when you're wrong.
