?

What can the Rockets do to become more attractive to FAs?

  1. Move team back to San Diego to compete with South Beach

I know the gentleman's club thing is a joke (well, OK, all of the options are), but I was told by someone who would know that a very significant reason that Barkley wanted to come to Houston back in the day was because of his great respect for our adult entertainment venues.

I think you forget some other key reasons that make Houston attractive to a guy making 10's of millions of dollars a year.

    1. No state income tax
    2. Low housing costs
    3. Warm weather year round - helps in those cold NBA seasons to come back to a warm area
    4. Nightlife is decent - only Chicago, New York, L.A. can really beat out

We have a good coach, a competitive team, and when you have guys like brooks, martin, yao, scola to play with - it's a very attractive place. It's also clear we have a dedication to win as we have had so many great players sign here as a free agent or part of an SnT or request a trade to Houston.

    Charles Barkley
    Scottie Pippen
    Ron Artest
    Clyde Drexler
    Tracy McGrady
    Steve Francis

All of these guys had Houston on their short list and came here pretty happy.

Anyone who thinks Houston is not a top destination for NBA stars doesn't really pay attention. I think the only one that have consistently shown to be bigger destinations is L.A.
