How would we match up against OKC if we hadn't amnestied Scola?

I'd like to think he'd be a great fit alongside Omer against the Thunder for when we go big. Couldn't help but wonder as I was watching Nick Collison manhandle Greg Smith last night. May be a moot point since our smaller lineup has been our ace in the hole this series, but I'm still curious to hear others' thoughts.

Side note, still not sure how I feel about the amnesty. Our PF situation has been so dicey this year I've often wondered if one more year of Luis here in Houston would have been best for the team. But would like to keep this thread Thunder-focused.

We would crush them. PF is our only weakness and Scola is a really good player.

As our backup centre? probably better, as our power forward? probably worse, Ibaka being dragged out of the paint has really been minimising his impact, and it's not like he can create his own shot out of the post anyway.

interesting question, and there's no reason we couldn't have that roster as the amnesty didn't really affect any of our later moves

Scola's motor and stretch the floor pickNpop ability would be great for this team.

Hindsight is 20/20. If we knew we could've afforded him this year, we wouldn't have amnestied him. We'd be marginally better right now, and he'd likely get amnestied the moment this season ended.

Small ball is what brought the Rockets back into this. They are making Ibaka make decisions. Either help on D and give up an open 3, or stick to his man and let the Rockets attack the rim.

I love Scola as much as the next Rocket's fan, but this is a series where we need to keep the strategy we are using since that is what works best.

Agreed completely. Amazing how our unpredictable our end-of-season roster is each year. Who knew we'd go from Patterson/Morris to what we have now.

Considering his range this season the would be a great fit, on offense he´s better than anyone we have, and on defense i don´t think any of our PF´s are significantly better than him.

I wouldn´t be surprised if Morey trades back for him, Harden and Lin would really appreciate it, he is one of the best offensive pick n roll players in the league and right now both Harden and Lin suffer when they see Asik as the roll man, they might as well pray the lord for Asik to catch the pass.

I love Scola, but I'm sorry, our point guard is averaging just about as many rebounds Scola would get.

with Scola it was never about his rebounding he would box out so someone else would get the rebounds. Ibaka and Collision would have a tough time getting those offensive rebounds.

We have out-rebounded OKC this series 43.6 to 42.8 per game.

Also, Scola couldn't guard KD, which is what our "4's in Garcia and Delfino (combined averaging 19 points a game) are taking turns doing.

Not missing Scola much production wise.

and keeping Scola means we don't have some of the others on the roster. Which could possibly mean someone like Harden isn't here.

We probably would have won one of the first three but it is impossible to say for sure so...

Scola would fit very well with this team. He loves to run. He hustles. He hits the middle range pick and pop. He can post up and do the ice cream scoop shot. When all fails, he can flop to give us a fighting chance.

We wouldn't do as well. Against OKC, we are taking Ibaka out of his comfort zone with our stretch four. With Scola, we would be slower and they would kill us inside.

scola has pretty good offensive skill set. Having another strong scorer besides harden and parsons can help. i think the only reason thunder hasn't sweeped yet is cuz of WB's injury. With WB out we got a decent chance. I think our chances woulda been improved with scola on the team before WB got taken out

How would we match up against OKC if we had resigned Dragic?

We would've lost Bcuz we wouldn't have enough money to sign asik, defino, Beverly, brooks, Lin, and etc. I say would couldn't be able to sign half those guys.

MOREY DID GOOD. Quit speculating. Also Ibaka would crush scola... I love what mcHale is doing going small

God knows why they amnestied him it was a stupid move. If they did it to develop Patterson as a starter, they already traded him for a bag of peanuts.
