How Would Dwight Howard Look Next To James Harden In A Rockets Uniform Next Season?

After seeing what Houston has been able to accomplish this season with James Harden might Dwight Howard reconsider his stance against Houston and decide that it is a desirable destination next summer? I know it's early for such questions but with the Lakeshow coming to town and with the growing possibility that the team may not even make the play-offs it seems like a good time to re-acess the possibility of Dwight to Houston.

Houston's game against the Lakers tomorrow could be very important to pushing Dwight out of LA. If the Rockets can win the game against the Lakers then there is a legit chance that they will fall 6 games below .500 in the middle of January while the Rockets continue to climb. A disgruntled Dwight could cause the Lakers to trade him if the team is not in contention for a play-off spot in February or he could just walk at the end of the season. The following is a quote from the ESPN Lakers Blog:

    http://espn.go.com/blog/los-angeles/lakers/post/_/id/35349/five-key-questions-for-the-lakers

But if Dwight did not want to come to Houston last summer why would he want to come to Houston this coming summer?

James Harden. Youth. Style of play.

The Rockets now have a bonafied Superstar on the team. Dwight does not have to ride into town and put the team on his shoulders. James Harden might even be the better and more impactful player between the two. One of the reasons (if not the main reason) Dwight did not want to come to Houston last summer was because he wanted a superstar to team with and a chance at winning title, thats why he wanted to team with Deron Williams in Brooklyn.

The Rockets are the youngest team in the NBA. The Superstar James Harden is only 23. When Dwight signe with the Lakers, he was signing with a very old team and an aging Kobe Bryant. With the Rockets he will get a team that can carry him into retirement. When Dwight is 34 and starting to see the end of his prime years, James Harden will be only 30 years old and at the very most unstoppable prime of his career.

The Rockets run the pick and roll offense. The Rockets have to guards in James Harden and Jeremy Lin that excel at the pick and roll offense. Dwight Howard is the single best pick and roll center in the game today. If Omer can have 20 point games in this system imagine how many points Dwight can score with the defense worried about James Harden?

So does anyone else think that Dwight could change his stance on Houston? Will LAL trade him at the trade deadline if the Lakers are looking to be out of the play-offs and Dwight is hinting at not resigning? Would Dwight make Houston equal to SAS or OKC or even MIA?

Don't want Howard. His free throws are terrible. I think he will be a liability for the rockets.

Why settle for Dwight Howard when you can save your cap room to pursue Lebron James in 2014?

To be frank, that's exactly what I'm thinking about these days. The issue is that Lakers wouldn't trade him, and DH wouldn't leave money on the table to leave LA. Very slim chance it happening.

    "Bonified"? LOL

I agree that the Rockets, as long as they don't suddenly suck in the 2nd half of the season, will become a hot destination because their up-tempo style will make a lot of players look great. Plus, the team is young and has a great core, meaning that they'll be good for a long time.

But I don't want that cancer Dwight Howard on the team. What makes Houston great right now is that there are no divas on the team. Harden is the superstar and nobody disputes that.

I'd rather get Bosh than Howard... and he's only a year older.

Sensing some residual hostility towards Howard.

What if you knew that Dwight apologized to Houstonians and made it clear that his representation was pushing for Brooklyn and then finally L.A. the entire time? Would that smooth things over?

In the summer of 2014 LeBron can become a free agent and Kevin Love will be in the final year of his contract and Minnesota will probably have to trade him. I would rather them wait and let this team keep playing together and go after one of them.

If they have to get a player sooner, I would rather them get Josh Smith. Fits right in offensively and brings better defense and rebounding.

Howard is a couple of nightgowns short from being a diva...
