Scola will be gone, White will put in time at the 3. Someone out of Furkan, Jones, and Patterson will also likely be dealt or sent to D-league for a while.
But is he? In admittedly limited PT, he did not show the ability to guard 3s. Even playing off, he was still getting blown by. Small sample size is the most positive spin I can think of to put on what i saw.
I agree. I don't think Morris has the lateral quickness to guard 3's and I don't think he has the shooting range to play the 3 either.
I unfortunately think that everyone, except of course Furkan who won't be stateside for a year or two, will be on the roster at the beginning of the season. I think you'll see a C/PF/SF lineup of: C-Asik, Donatus, Leuer PF-Scola, Patterson, White SF- Parsons, Morris, Jones Personally I think the Rockets should move Patterson for a solid swing man to replace Courtney Lee, to provide SG depth when Martin is injured and to help with the quicker SFs that Jones and Morris can't guard. I also would like to see Morris off the team, but I doubt either of these things will occur. Barring a good trade, hopefully White can earn playing time like Parsons did last year and will be able to develop. The fact that he has an in with McHale via Hoiberg may help matters.
