IMO, Boki's development is really important to the Rockets this season. He needs to make a leap forward this year and show that he is ready for regular rotation minutes. Jim Jackson should not log close to the minutes he did last season given his age and, depending on who we sign in free agency to play the point, we'll need Boki to get 10-15 minutes a game.

Personally, I think he could be a significant help. He has turned out to be pretty damn good defensively. If he can get his shot consistent and start slashing to the basket more, it could be deadly out there.

If we sign Barry and Boki plays well enough to get the start at the three, that is a VERY long lineup in there with Barry, T-Mac and Boki. That would be a helluva trio for running the floor too.

It seems like that the Rox as Jeff pointed out are relying heavily on Boki to take that final step. because from what i've seen so far, the rockets arent even Considering a backup SF Via the Free Agency or Trade. this is a huge leap of faith on the Rox Parts. it's up to Boki now to Repay that Faith.

Boki has shown nothing to make me believe he is good. He can't his outside shot and his ball handling skills aren't good enough to overcome that. Hopefully he can shoot next year.

He is a Pretty good defensive player. I mean he is you're Typical Van Gundy type stallin. sure his offense is Rusty, but in Europe apprantly he was a dead eye dick from beyond the Arch. he is no slouch, he will come around I'm Sure!!

Yes the coming season will be JJ's last productive season. After that it will be all the way down hill for JJ. Therefore I believe JVG will let (help) Boki crack the starting 5 by the end of the season, provided Boki deserves it of course.

Btw, Cat is not THAT good looking. 1st and 2nd is definitely JJ and Boki. I'd even put Cat behind Taylor and Piatkowski.

I really hope Nachbar can play about 25-30 minutes a night. Jackson can get 8 mins behind McGrady and 23 at the 3 that 31mins a night. If he can't really get minutes now, i don't know what to say. I deally, i would like to see Jackson come off the bench and spell both spots, but who knows.

I think JJ won't play less than 35 minutes. If Pike is still here, even if he's in the dog house, he's bound to get around 5 minutes.

So that's 3 minutes behind T-Mac for JJ. 32 minutes at SF. That leaves 16 minutes at backup SF.

If AG, a JVG signing, doesn't come back healthy, I'm hoping he starts off with 16 minutes early and begins to eat into JJ and Pike's minutes. Maybe even some time at PF in certain matchups.

Hopefully he'll end the season around 20mpg, and by the end of the year, he'll have made himself a clear choice for starter at SF.

Then, maybe we'll dump JVG for a coach who is more offense-oriented, and what will we have?

We have a team full of players who know how to play lock down defense thanks to JVG, but whom aer also offensively gifted. The type of system where Boki, Yao, T-Mac, and Barry would flourish. Offense oriented, but with the ability to kick ass ondefense when needed.

I have always maintained that a core of players needs to experience two extremes of coachign before it can reach its full potential.

Jeff, I agree. Nachbar's development this year is huge for both him and the Rockets. This really is a make or break year for Boki. He does need to log those regular bench rotation minutes this year and I am hoping that if we get someone like Barry, that will help Nachbar's game. We will run more fast breaks and get out on the open court where Nachbar can run on the wing and slash to the basket. With a player like Barry that will LOOK to make passes with slashers I think that will really help Nachbar's game. Nachbar is not the kind of player that you just stick behind the 3pt line and take shots. He has to MOVE and hopefully with more offense and better passers on the court it will augment Nachbar's game.

Considering the moniker, anyone else find this post ironic?

I hope Boki has a bust out year.

I’m expecting stats similar to Ginobili and Okur in their rookies seasons. About 20 minutes, 7 points, 43%FG (33%3PT), and 4 rebounds per game.

My wife says the same thing. She wants a Nachbar jersey and I'm thinking of getting it for her. Anything to raise her interest in the Rockets. :D
