Hate to say it but I'm in my 40's my night vision has gone to hell. Everything looks dark. Its like the moon and stars don't give off enough light anymore.

I hate driving at night, so a lot worse than I was younger.

How is your vision at spotting the delicious door bells at night though?

It went to crap after I got laser eye surgery. That's a risk they don't tell you. Worse night vision and chronic dry eye.

I almost ran into those small road medians they sometimes put up on strip mall exits. A friend sitting next to me was like wtf, didn't you see that??? Obviously I didn't....

Given your hypertension history, you better check your retina's vessels

I 2nd ^Exiled. Vision isn't something to play around with, go see an ophthalmologist if you can afford it / have the insurance.

I feel your pain OP, eye problems suck and can be damn scary.

I got hit in the eye playing basketball about 4 months ago, which created a small personal hell for me. Had a shadow in my vision for about a month or two, and now I have floaters in the center of my vision. No insurance, spent a thousand I couldn't afford out of pocket just to be told by a retina specialist "dunno" (most upsetting and downright depressing **** ever). I'm guessing I had a PVD and have some Weiss rings left over now.

Wear goggles when hooping fellas! You may look damn silly but you'll be glad when you don't get your eye knocked out.

I got my first pair of glasses 5 months ago. It's literally been night and day. My eye sight hasn't changed much, but astigmatism makes everything have a bloom affect. Made driving at night bad.

I actually don't see well at all at night so I usually have my wife drive. Plus I recently started getting floaters and flashes in my left eye (an old age thing), and at night the flashes are more bothersome (it looks like a shooting star going across the upper night sky).

If you're seeing flashes of light similar to a camera flash, you should see a doctor immediately.

If lights seem out of focus at night and more Starburst-like or flared, you probably need your prescription checked. Always get anti-reflective coatings on lenses, too.
