How would you feel if we don't make a trade for Tmac before the trade deadline?

  1. Very Upset - We would've been an exciting team to watch with the possibility of a playoff run.

Not really sine all of the 1st rd pick are now 2+2 option years. If the guy pans out, you have him longer and has his bird rights and such. The money between a mid first rd pick and where chase or jt were picked is double which goes back to what you were saying about talk is cheap. They could've had that pick if they wanted and maybe the gap between those two may not seem big, but having the ability to manuver with that pick is.

His three point shooting for his career is terrible. But his percentage from the field is sustantially better than Ariza, and if you look at his career stats his efficiency goes up when he was surrounded by decent players. The offense we run will look a little different next year once Yao is worked back into the lineup but there is still a premium on mid range shooting in our offense especially at times when Yao is not on the floor. He's not ideal but has only has one additional year on his contract so its a good gamble.

I wont be disappointed as long as we trade Battier for expirings & draft pick(s)...

PS. We could go to the lottery with two or three high to mid first round picks(via Thunder, hoping we trade battier to them for expirings & picks), possibly allowing us to get Greg Monroe (with our pick) & Xavier Henry and/or Avery Bradley (via Phx & Thunder's picks).. just depending on who's available...

plus letting his contract expire wouldn't get us that much under the cap anyways.

I dont think we should do anything that will potentially take us away from being prime players in teh 2010 free agency. I think wit Yao ming comin back and the core that we have, we are missing just one piece (scorer, playmaker) that will take us over the top (barring any injury). So plz. Morey. Dont do anything that will hinder that. Have faith in this team, and let MCslacky rott on the bench for the "im shutting it down" ish he pulled last year.

we need to focus on resigning lowry scola brooks and give Landry an extention. If tmac's contract expires, it'll give us some cap room relief and we could actually improve ourselves by taking salary cap trades from other teams. Morey does so well with picks, and we could get some second round picks by taking salary and getting team under the luxury tax starting next yr.

I think we should trade him worst comes to worst for other expiring contracts so we don't compromise ours if were not getting any good deals and just do him a favor, he really hasn't done us a disservice(if you think his surgery last year was, he might've increased his value in trade, because everyone wanted tmac for his contract, and then most of his contract would've been picked up my medical because of that injury as it saved us money too), and really I just want this to be over with and I am curious to see him play too. His life as a player isn't long and if he still wants to play and we can't get talent back, we should just get other expiring contracts atleast so its the same for us but atleast an aging player gets his wish as do his fans

I'd be indifferent. If there isn't a trade, it's because there wasn't a good trade to be made.

    In Morey I trust.

Anyone else think that if the Rockets can't trade Tracy, he might play after the deadline?

In my perspective, the reason why they have not allowed him to play is to bring up his trade value. Letting Tracy play would have been a gamble, if they let gave him extended minutes and he plays well, his trade value would go up. But if he plays bad, then his trade value will go down. I know some of you see him only as an expiring contract, but if he played horrendous then teams like the Knicks would have no interest in him right now.

Rather, the Rockets allowed him to only play limited minutes to show him off and let Tracy bring up his own trade value through continuous "I am healthy" talks with the media. Why gamble on letting him play when teams already want him?

Ariza, on the other hand, is still currently in the starting lineup, given a green light to shoot, as Adelman and Morey promised him he would be a offensive contributor. I know that a lot of people have had there doubts about why Adelman continues to 'overplay' Ariza.

In my opinion, he will continue to start and be allowed to shoot until we get another SF (such as Butler or Iggy). If we do get another SF, then Ariza's role will be reduced with no hard feelings to Adelman or Morey because they kept their promise by letting him play until they found someone that could replace him. Why break their promise and have a disgruntled Ariza for the remainder of the season? But in this way, Adelman wouldn't break the promise and Ariza can be forced back into a role playing position.

Which leads us to the trade deadline. If the deadline passes and Tracy is still on the team then I believe that the Rockets should play him. It's a win/win scenario.

If they play him and he is the old Tracy then we find the go-to scorer that we have been looking for and lead us to the promise-land (or the playoffs). If continues to play horrendously by his 4-5th game after continuously saying that he is back, then it's over for him as a Rocket. What do the Rokcets have to lose?

Btw this is my first post :D

I think some people want drama and to see BREAKING NEWS at the top of the page more than anything right now.

But I trust Morey and I'm patient. If it happens, it happens. We're not going to experience a sudden revolution this season no matter what deal goes down (ok, maybe if we land 2 superstars in unicorn rainbow land we could).

The Rockets are better off trading Tmac for someone other than wait for the offseason to sign a big name. Signing a big name free agent would probably be impossible for the Rockets because most free agents prefer to be elsewhere.

Quite disappointed. We've waited so long for the trade deadline, now we got to wait another 2 month for the whole thing to clear up and the team to move on. With T-Mac still on the roster, the other players can't focus on the game without worrying about the possibility of being traded. Quick pain is always better than chronic suffering. I found that out the hard way aka bikini wax, jk
