I go into a catatonic state and have to be hospitalized. ;)

No, I tell myself I didn't play and that I could have made more shots that Rafer Alston, which is true on both counts.

I usually go outside and beat my dog. His name is Rafer.

*It should be noted that this is a joke, and that any animal rights advocates who take this message seriously need to calm down. I would never do an animal the disservice of naming it Rafer, no matter how cruel that may seem.

I throw my dog in a bathtub, and beat him with a whip.

I don’t understand why you are so upset! My view is very different from yours; I see the light from the other end of the tunnel. Don’t you see how Yao was adjusted to the game? Compare his first three quarters to the last. Is not it what we all want to see? Imagine how much he’ll help the team a couple of games later. Cheer up buddy!

Please don't get me wrong because I love basketball and the Rockets are my only team... and I don't just watch them when they're winning, but if I get the opportunity to watch them, I watch the whole game... but its just a game... and I understand that its more than just a game to the guys on the squad (because playing basketball IS who they are and what they do), but for the rest of us, its just a game. You'll live a much longer, happier life if you don't fret over this kind of schtuff.

yea dude, i know what you mean....when i started there about 9 years ago, i didn't have too much hatred for any dallas teams, in fact i like the starts because we didn't have an nhl team. after one semester, i began to truly despise any dallas teams because of all the ignorant dallas kids

If it's a really annoying loss, I bang my fist on the sofa a couple of times and sulk for like 30 minutes.

Otherwise I just go find something else to do. (And try to avoid ClutchFans for the next 12 hours or so at least).

    Depends on the loss.

If we play well, calls are even or at least close to it, and we get beat by a team that played better?? I check out the boards online and theorize on what we need to do, and can do, better and that helps.

If we play poorly and below our potential, the calls are horribly lopsided against us (way too frequently), or if someone gets hurt for what seems to be an extended period (Any of these is too frequent), I b**** about it after the game until it irritates those around me, then I shut up, and avoid thinking about it for a couple of days and focus on other things.

The cavs game had me pretty pissed, as you can imagine. I broke my own rule, and read THIS the next day, which just totally pissed me off. Hometown Jackass ignores how they got over

I had to remind myself to let those games go for a day or so while composing a letter to the guy, which i deleted realizing what a waste of time it was.

It's just basketball, I'm a huge fan and it does affect me but only when I let it... so I try to remind myself of priorities in life, and don't let it..

I go to the parking lot of a local bar and wait in my car with a baseball bat until I see someone I just don't like the look of. Then I go to town with my anger. To town.

Oh yeah, I usually get really messed up on horse crank and PCP before and after. It helps with the guilt of breaking some random guy's legs.

Just call them bandwagon fans, and when they say "oh, we've been fans X many years!" Be prepared with a question to test that theory. I'm pretty sure they didn't give a **** about the Mavs when they sucked, so ask them a question that they would've had to have been a fan back then to know.

First, throughout the game I'm ranting and raving at the moronic plays...so I'm mostly upset with Rafer and or Luther. A couple of those moments are filled with the "why did you shoot that....YES!"

If they are losing badly I have to turn off the tv/radio until I'm forced to turn it back on by sheer curiosity. If they lose a close one I stay silent for a few minutes, yell at the TV/Radio saying "why can't I quit you" then proceed to watch the 93-94 finals on dvd while listening to "We Had the Time of Our Lives" in the background.

    *sigh*

Losses used to bother me a lot worse than they do now.

I would get so mad that I would be grumpy to my wife and kids. But I don't want that.

I watch the Rockets to have fun. If we lose.. well... that's not fun, but I'm not gonna let that ruin my attitude for a day.
