The only way you can slow DWill down is to try and get the trap with Scola/ Hayes and whichever PG is in at the time. Even then, it's not guarenteed. His court vision and ball handling is too good. He can either dribble around or through the trap or dish the ball off- in which case the double creates mismatches or 4 on 3's. The Jazz are an excellent passing team so that leads to easy buckets. T-Mac guarding him? Terrible idea. Again DWill is too quick, strong, and controls the ball too well- combine that with the mismatch of Alston/Brooks/ Jackson on Brewer and that's a sophomore SG who's going to drop 20 easy points on the Rockets. If you play off of him or shrink into the paint to stop the penetration he is deadly anywhere free throw line extended. Keep him on the perimeter and dare him to shoot from beyond the arch and you'll get burned, as he's shooting 58% from 3pt range during this series. The scoring is not what needs to be contained- it's the assists. If he picks up 7+ assists in the first half the Jazz roll to a victory. It's a catch 22 and that's why he is so important to the Jazz. So I guess the only option is to take a page from the Nuggets play book and try and injure him ala Anthony. Good luck with that cause he's resilient as hell.
You probably didn't see the same game as I did last night. D Will easily abused AB when he went to his right.
foul him on the drive. He hasn't been hitting his free throws this series. Make him earn it at the line. As a matter of fact, if you foul him, you might even get away with a block. Look what Boozer did to Landry.
