Except when it comes to deficit spending, trade deficits, wars based on lies, legislating morality, etc. etc. ad nauseum.

True. However, I never said conservatives didn't do such things as well. I did say that you can't say that liberals believe in self control and conservatives do not when much of the liberal platform is about relying on/blaming others.

    My bad

I ain't trying to fight no one

I just got a lil confused

I don't think there is any such a thing as a PURE Liberal or a PURE Conservative

I think alot of these terms have lost their meaning and are confusing
sometimes i wonder if i ever needed the meaning in the 1st place

The debate is over conservative vs. liberalism is it not? You're referring to Republican vs. Democrat... two completely different things.

Naw, conservatives are only about self control as long as you conform to what they think you should be doing. As soon as somebody does something "objectionable," conservatives immediately try to squash it by enacting new legislation.

    Abortion.
    Gay Marriage.
    Sexual content on TV
People who live in America but only speak Spanish ("if you live here, you need to speak English!!!)
Objecting to the war in Iraq ("you don't support our troops?")
    etc
    etc
    etc

As long as you don't shake the status-quo, only then do conservatives beleive in self-control. After that, conservatives beleive in the highest forms of government control possible.

So what about the whole gaggle of religious right conservatives, who intend to legislate their moral views? Is that allowing people to control their own lives? Seems a little authoritarian to me.

Kids who whine usually want an authority figure to make things easier for them. But that doesn't mean they're going to be conservatives. It just means they're lazy little bastards.

Okay, lets do an informal poll. Who was whiny as a kid? I wasn't, I was usually pretty quiet in school and stuff.

Mr. Clutch, I think Keith Bogans' honeymoon with the Rockets was over, not to mention he is already a starter. Maybe you want to replace him with someone else in your sig?

If you think about it, this post actually proves how inaccurate this study is.

I see a lot of homophobic babies.

Are conservaitive babies also less likely to share their toys and sing and draw?

    BTW, conformity is garbage.

this is probably a topic for another thread...but i see conformity in everyone. in people seeking to be conformed and people desparately trying to be non-conformists. it's everywhere. we seek family...we seek community..and we adapt to fit it better when we find it.

Maybe I shouldn't. Everyone I put in there ends up sucking really bad. First Bowen, then Head, now Bogans.

I agree. If you are a non-conformist, aren't you conforming with the other non conformists? And wouldn't that make you a conformist?

    It's just so confusing.
