    This is easy...

    Quit letting him shoot

Get a superstar player to create shots for him.

    Other.

Get him penetrating more and work on finishing strong in practice. He's long and athletic, so he should be able to finish well. He's been working on it (obviously) and is becoming less of a chucker already. If you've been watching games, you know he's been changing the last 10 games or so.

He needs to move without the ball and stay away from the jumpers. Plain and simple. The offense will work for him once he accepts that. He won't even be a big scorer but he can be a 11-12 ppg game guy and shoot 45% if he will run the offense and leave his ego at home.

I voted "other" -- TA is doing fine for his role. Houston did NOT sign Kobe Bryant from LA. TA is a starter and needs to be aggressive.

Who would the anti-ToF prefer to shoot on this team?

    Lowry?

    Cook?

    Scola (from the perimeter)?

    Andersen?

    Landry (from the perimeter)?

Hayes (from anywhere on the court)?

    Dorsey?

That other rookie not named Chase?

It's simple. You tell him "bring up your field goal percentage to something worthy of an NBA starter or you won't be one." That could involve less shots. Could involve working harder in practice. Then, if it doesn't help, you bench him.

I just want to note than in January, Trevor is 40/81 (49.4%) on 2-pointers.

The solution to his shooting problem is obvious: drive. Also obvious is the fact that they're telling him to do that, and he is doing it more.

Definitely shoot less and take smarter shots. Something that hopefully will be fixed when we get Yao back.

Remember he was an important part of the Laker's championship team...he'll just have to go back to playing that way.

    How about that guy Brooks.
I'd rather have him take extra shots than Ariza shoot at all.

I don't think he is the top 3 offensive option in our team,so just let him cut the volumn of that damn shooting, focus more on defensive end,,I hate to see this guy missed so many shots ,and totally destroy his own and the team's confidence.

You look at what D'antoni does with NY; he gets his players to shoot the rock non stop... there's a reason why players in his system have "inflated numbers", one being that they play little/no defense and focus everything on offense, but also because they practice shooting ALOT in practice. Just look at what Stoudemire has become under D'antoni; a guy who can hit the midrange, improved his FT greatly, etc.

Ariza just needs to continue shooting in practice, refine his shot mechanics.

    Other:

For the time being, change his green light to fire 3s to an orange (Yellow's too much, red is extreme - Ariza can hit them in practice, 1 or 2 wide open catch and shoot attempts in a game is fine).

Press him to attack to rim, and mix in easier jump shots inside the arc. Get his confidence back. This isn't a year where we're chasing a title, it would be stupid to ball an asset up and toss him in the trash because he's struggling in a bigger role than he's intended for, a bigger role than he'd ever expect to see in his career.

I want a guy that's ready to go next year with a reduced, easier, role.

My first thought before I even clicked on the thread was duh don't let him shoot. He can's shoot from the bench, so benching him is a good idea too. The Rockets should make a secret pact to NEVER pass him the ball under any circumstances, so he can pout in the time outs about AB not looking for him. He should be ISO'd by us. LOL
