I'm shocked and disappointed that Baqui99 is the only person immature enough besides me to come up with this kind of response. Do it when she's got a mouthful.
Plan a romantic dinner with just the two of you. Do all the cooking, and go into the kitchen or whatever to get the cooking. When time comes for desert, have a small cake (maybe a heart shaped cake) ready, and go inot the kitchen to get it. Put the ring in the middle of the cake, and bring it out and sit it on the table. I saw that somewhere.
Let me prepare you for something. Regardless of how you propose or where, once you show her the ring she will look at it like it is about to explode. All women do this. It does not necessarily mean that she will say no. It is a normal reaction. Carry on.
If it was me, I would try to find a place that is remote but has a scenic beauty to it. It would help if this place is one that she is familiar with and appreciates the beauty of it. If you have seen "The Shawshank Redemption", something like the place that Andy Dufresne proposed to his wife. Good luck.
And if you haven't seen Shawshank Redemption, get TNT (The Official 24 hour Shawshank Redemption Television Network).
don't have TNT so my memory is hazy but doesn't Dufresne's wife have an affair, not sure this such a good idea to follow his lead
CoutingCrow, do something that has a theme or venue that is special to you and your partner make it romantic and make it special and as much as everyone will say how did he ask, the key thing that gets remembered is one that you asked, two that she says yes and three the ring and then eventually all that gets pushed to side by wedding plans and wedding itself
