I have good grades and get by well in school but i could do a lot better if i wasn't so lazy. What is some advice you guys have to overcome this laziness? Basically, after basketball season ended I come home and watch tv for 8 hours straight and do no work.

If you're this lazy already good luck during senior year. Senioritis has hit for me.

Man, I had problems with that. Still do but not as much. Just think, it's a competition out here. Only the best survive. You don't wanna end up broke after college an **** so put in the work now!!

You should be able to do quantitative stuff in front of the TV.

You're already doing well, so no need to change.

Well, what level of school are you at right now? What do you want to do as a career?

I was the same way my freshman year of college. Make yourself a schedule and stick to it. It's all about creating a routine.

If you commit to spending 8 hours of the day in class or in the library (even if you don't have homework or projects, look at your syllabus and get ahead), you can spend the rest of the day (and most of the weekend) doing whatever you want.

EDIT: Didn't see you were still in HS. Might be a little harder, but regardless, routine is the key.

School is not for everyone. The idea that you have to go to college after you graduate is bad. Do what you want to do. School will always be there.

Seriously, eventually you'll reach a point where you feel really unproductive after smoking so you'll start actually doing something.

That or get a girlfriend, she'll be a good reason for you to work harder.

Hang out with people that like to work hard, play hard. Set up a study group or join one. That's been the ticket for me, at least when I was lazy in college. Eventually it will become habit and you can do it on your own. Competition and peers will drive you to that next level I think.
