I was told it was a "no-no" to put a tv over a fireplace... i don't know if it's b/c of the actual fireplace or if the wall where the chimney is located is weak and can't handle so much weight?
Uh, negative b****y McBitcherton. That is a custom built in specifically for a flat panel TV. It is recessed so that the TV does not stick out as far from the wall with an articulating wall mount. +100 points. As far as the TV above the fireplace is concerned, that is also not true. The only reason you wouldn't do that is if you do not have studs to hold the mount. That is true for any wall that you would hang a TV on though.
I have a kick ace receiver (Denon AVR-3808CI) but haven't really looked for better speakers. The only limitation the lady puts on me is that they have to be small. I have Klipsch right now and while they aren't the best, they aren't the worst either.
Well, your custom build it ugly. You know what the say about men with big flat screens, they have little peepees.
I think it looks really nice! And what do they say about girls with big flat screens? Small va jay jay?
lol I'm not trying to be catty. That just seemed like a pretty lame thing to say. And Lil Pun couldn't be more wrong!
If she wants really small, you can go for something like the Gallo A'Diva Ti series. Each speaker is about the size of a softball. I don't like stuff like that, but it is better than Klipsch (you are right, they are not the worst, I just hate them). Your speakers should cost more than your receiver.
show us something better. and it's not as if that tv is that big. it looks like it is 42 inches. that's pretty common nowadays.
Just because your man has a "peepee" doesn't mean all men are hung like a 6 year old. Maybe one day you'll be able to see what's it's like to be with a man that can take care of business in life as well as the bedroom. With your attitude I'd put my money on the under. I'll check those out. If you have any other suggestions let me know. As I said, I haven't even began to research them. We bought this house about a year ago and have been constantly improving the whole time. In the last two weeks we've dropped a ton on landscaping and we are hoping to paint and have wood floors put in the whole house before the holidays. I try to pay cash for everything because I don't want to rack up any debt so it takes longer than we'd like sometimes but we feel it's smarter that way. It's 52".
I am like you - cash only. If you want, send me an email and I can try to help further. I know where you can hear the Gallo's, for example. I'll also try to think of more for you to think about/listen to.
