criscokid.. woohoo I was right... and for anyone who suggests that we sign him and then trade him later without his approval.. isn't there also a rule about having to wait a certain period of time after you sign a guy to trade him.. unless it is a sign and trade? I guess I am a winner but didnt win anything though ------------------ Shane "Save Our Rockets" "Life without basketball in Houston........without an arena that is what it will be"
I doubt Shandon wants to go to a lottery team such as Denver and since he can opt out of his contract.. He'd have to agree to a sign and trade? ------------------ Shane "Save Our Rockets" "Life without basketball in Houston........without an arena that is what it will be"
I look at the Miami Heat's roster and, man, they have NO ONE. About 11 players, three or four that almost never play, and others on the verge of retirement. The Heat has no draft pick this year. They have too many big guys deserving to start. They need to re-stock. They need to build up the bench with an eye to the future. Remember at the trade deadline, how CD and Riley were communicating? Riley made noises that Hakeem was not actually the subject of the talks. But everyone knows Riley needed a big man at the time. People assumed he was after Los. Maybe he was. But maybe he was after Kelvin Cato. Hakeem wanted to be a bigger part of the offense and voiced his displeasure at about the same time Cato was returning from injury. Also, how many BS excuses did the Rockets float out there about Cato's return being delayed another couple of days for this and for that...now he has the flu...now he he has, er, um, a hangnail. Cato's BYC status made it difficult to trade him. And Mason was in the midst of an All-Star season. But, after the season, Cato's BYC status will be removed once we drop below the salary cap (either re-signing or renouncing Hakeem to a smaller contract). And Mason will be on the block. Kelvin Cato, deemed off-season trade fodder, was pushed to his sulky limits by given token minutes as Hakeem was given starter's (kind-of) minutes. Mason is on the block. If we traded for him, we would need a 3-way trade, cause obviously we don't want Mason. I think there is a market for Cato. I would look to teams having trouble attracting free agents. Cato (+ Walt + Los) + #13 and Detroit's obligation to the Pistons for the #9? That would move Ben Wallace to his natural spot of power forward. (Especially if we do get the #18 pick and give it to Memphis to give to Detroit.) The Bulls? The "Express"? (Memphis) The Nets? ------------------
