you guys are telling people how to eat bagels? in nyc, bagels are bought at delis. if you get ANYTHING on it, it is served as a sandwhich and you eat it thusly. if you get a bunch of bagels to take home for the family or whatever, people will eat them however they feel like it. my guess is that the majority of bagels in nyc are eaten sandwich style. you guys simply don't know what you're talking about.

This is how i prefer to eat them. Open face allows the chance of the cream cheese to get on the outside area of your lips. On the run though, I make a full sandwich.
