How to deal with nosey family members on Thanksgiving

Bring up the deficit supercommittee, Obama, or the tea party, it will derail any discussion about your teaching career. Then, you can can munching on turkey as the fireworks go off.

 

You're old enough to probably have a few friends who either can't make it home or no longer feel the need to go home for Thanksgiving.

Next year, get together with those friends and have a good time.

You can always call your folks, send 'em a text, or change your Facebook page to wish them a happy Thanksgiving.

 

Hey man, tell us why you aren't a doctor or engineer? All I see here are excuses.

 

Every time someone starts to ask you a question, fill their pie hole with turkey/stuffing/pie.

Just had them problem... people really need to come up with something more interesting than the what do you do topic. Change the subject and tell people you don't like talking business at the dinner table. End of story.
