What are the odds McHale rests our starters?

I dislike the Lakers more at this point. I'm down with playing the starters to keep LA out.

Jazz most likely goes 3-1. Lose to OKC, beat the Wolves twice, and beat a Memphis squad resting their players

Lakers go 2-3, winning against POR and NOH, and lose three close games to GS, SAS, and us.

    Sounds realistic?

McHale rests the starters except Lin and Parsons, who combine for 60 points to K.O. Kobe.

We want the Lakers out of the playoffs and for the Clips to finish in 5th.

If I'm Dwight, I ask how long before the Lakers can be competitive again? Since their cap is tied up through at least 2014, I'd say no sooner than 2015, maybe 2016.

If I'm CP3 and a team with Griffin, Jordan, Crawford, Bledsoe, Billups, Hill, Odom, etc. can't finish higher than 5th, and knowing that the team won't have an cap to add another significant piece until at least 2016, maybe I'm looking around.

Personally, I don't think either will pass up the money, which is fine if you're a Rockets fan because it means neither LA team will be competing for a championship anytime soon.

OTOH...CP3, Harden, and Dwight is just too juicy to not at least attempt knocking on doors and giving away iPads.

I'm with the OP on this. It would be wonderful and delicious to drink the tears of the entitled Laker fanbase, and watch the media completely tear them apart if they fail to make the playoffs.

To be the team that knocks them out... I would cherish that memory forever.

Jazz has 0% of winning a first round series....Lakers on the other hand.

Which is why it would be sweet to knock a team out of the playoffs, which the media crowned before they even played a single game

it would be hilarious of the OP ended up jinxing us instead. what if we lose out the rest of the year and the lakers beat us to knock us out of the playoffs?

As long as Nash is running the point they are doomed, he is just too damned old and slow for today's NBA.

This.. Unless the Lakers get some BS calls go their way (which is likely), they don't have much a chance against GSW and even SAS resting their starters. And im sure our starters will play against the Lakers too.

If the Lakers can get into the playoffs with a win against Houston in the last game, Houston is going to need to win in a blowout to prevent the refs from giving the win to LA.

I would love to see LA miss the playoffs. I just think it's funny. I hate the Jazz, but I'll take them over the Lakers. Ideally, I'd like the Mavs to make a run and get in the 8th spot but that ain't happening.

It would be this sweet if we beat the Lakers in the final game of the season in that situation.

    I'll be happy either way.

Jazz make then Lakers are out. Lakers make it then Jazz are out.

    It's a win-win

It may not be as sweet, but I would prefer the Lakers already be out of the playoff picture by the last game.

    The earlier the better.
