There's no such thing as almost win. Rox almost beat Lakers 2 years ago but they didn't, it won't even be mentioned again in 10 years. Cavs didn't have many stars but they have good roles. Defensive big man in Varejao, bunch of good 3pt shooters. Heat have Wade and Bosh, and LeBron are making them worse as he has always been doing in his career.
Good post, I agree compeltely, they have three players who need the ball too much to succeed, the only person playing on the ball should be Wade, Bosh and James need to play off the ball and I know for sure Lebron won't. They also have absolutely no shooters outside of Mike Miller, needless to say, they have bad chemistry and won't be winning the championship this year. and yes, I just recently posted the same thing that Lebron(and Mike Brown) makes talented players less talented.
Cleverly leaving out that James Jones was 6 of 9 from 3 , and he is a career 39.4%(39% fg as well) from 3. I guess they have 1 good shooter and 1 decent shooter, but you can't rely on Jones to shoot 66% from 3 every game. I can tell you from watching the Cavs many years (I guess they are like my 2nd team), Lebron is only a streak shooter, and he loves chucking a lot of the times. His mid range shots are horrendous. It won't be long for the Heat before they realize that this isn't NBA2K or NBA Live, where you can put stars together and just win.
Jones is a 40% shooter and House and Chalmers are decent as well. They will be getting plenty of open looks so their percentages will go up (not 66% but for them to collectively shoot close to 40% from 3 is not unfathomable). Perimeter shooting will not be a problem. A lack of interior presence may be; that'll remain to be seen when they play more teams with size. Never in NBA history has a team put three top players together in their primes. Most "super" teams have done pretty well-- the last one, Boston, won in their first year. The mob mentality is clearly to root against these guys and try to rationalize a way they can lose (and they will, since they aren't perfect), but I think (and Vegas agrees with me) that they are the favorites and, barring injury, will win for years & years.
good post. I agree with the mob mentality theory, I'm pretty much guilty of it. But i think the boston big three was a lot more balanced, with One skilled and defensive big men, Ray allen who plays super well without the ball, and Pierce who runs the offence with the ball in his hands. I think having Lebron and Wade together will take a while to adjust to, because both are wing players who gets the ball in their hands most of the time for their previous teams, and raptors also had the tendency to dump the ball to bosh when they cant find offence. So it in my opinion it will take a lot more effort for the miami big three to play up to their full potential. and quite frankly i dont expect them to win the championship this year.
I think after this season when the heat will loose in the playoffs, he'll get fired, and Pat Riley will come downstairs to the head coaching job.
