I would bet on him not starting. I think Adleman will be bringing him in like he did T-Mac initially. It will take 2-3 months for him to get back into game shape, for him to gain his confidence, and to get his shot back. If he responds well he will play 25-35 min MAX/game.

Consider his physical condition. We want him to play the whole season. I think 20mpg is ideal.

First? You're just one of the many, jumping on that bandwagon for people who only look at the moment.

It's such a stupidly easy choice to keep Yao that it disgusts me that these "fans" even bring it up. I don't even think they watch basketball. He's on the last year of a cheap contract (barely as much as Rashard Lewis), was a top5 center (the hardest type of talent to have), and is the most profitable player in the NBA for a team (besides LeBron or Kobe).

People that want Yao gone are the same type of people who fall into that cash for gold scam.

yeah well the way things are going ill take the cash over the gold, no point in keeping something of great value in the bank while you are having to starve yourself at home (why keep yao on a team that's not winning championships???)

If you keep everything in cash, you lose purchasing power during periods of inflation.

Owning commodities is a hedge against inflation.

Ever heard the phrase, "a fool and his money are soon parted?" The fool is the one who takes cash over gold.

By the end of the season, it will be a repeat of history with Yao in street clothes.

Quite possible. Also, there is no evidence that even limiting his minutes to 20 a game will make any difference as he still carries the possibility of going down at any time. At this point in time, I'd simply let him play out his contract and see how events turn out.

slowly bring him along throughout the season and by the all star break he should be back completely.. play him 25-33 minutes a game the entire season and turn his minites up to 30-36 mins a game and pray he doesnt get hurt

Do not go to extremes. Nobody knows what lay ahead in front of US. There is high possibility that he will get hurt again. If we can get something decent back, we should trade him Otherwise we keep him to see what it will happen. We should not play him more than 30 minutes until playoff game. He is more prone to injury when he plays more minutes.

Work him in slowly and eventually get him up to 30+ minutes. The organization needs to know how well his feet will hold up for contract purposes.
