It was mutual. The Rockets clearly didn't want him back(don't tell me the D'Antoni hire was entirely coincidental). Dwight didn't wanna be here. And hell, Morey was openly fielding offers for him a year ago before the trade deadline.

Look, it was a 3 year experiment that didn't result in a title, but did take this franchise deeper in the playoffs than they'd been in nearly 2 decades. I'm thankful for that and even more thankful that the Rockets went in a new direction that's clearly better for them. It doesn't mean we need to rewrite history though and act like Dwight didn't bring anything positive during his time here.

This is why I appreciate the Rockets.. Dwight dragged Morey, the Rockets and Harden's names through the mud on his media free agency tour and the Rockets still appreciate his accomplishments and what he did for the team. They STILL haven't said one bad word about Dwight.

No amount of achievement gives you the right to be a chump-ass quitter/pouter.

Morey was fielding offers for Dwight because he didn't want to play the way we asked him to play. Now he is playing the way we wanted him to play in Atlanta.

Just because I dislike Dwight now doesn't mean I don't appreciate what he did for the Rockets. I just cant let it go.. It was just too disrespectful in my eyes. NEVER FORGET!

I don't get the whole "Dwight chose us when he didn't have to" argument as justification for quitting on the team either. Rockets fans should have more self respect than that. It's desperate and kind of pathetic.

This thread has clearly triggered me. I'm going to step back...

Definitely cheered, no brainer. Yes, he checked out last year, but who didn't? It was a bad year for everyone, including him.

The entire team quit on us.. which player on the roster played their hardest every game last season?

Dwight deserves exactly what he gave us on the court last year, total indifference. But If you can't boo a guy for quitting in games in your city, I'm not sure when you can boo. He certainly has earned it.

There were more positives than negatives in his tenure. Would clap, slight cheer.

Cheer him. We are better than Orlando and LA. He chose us and he deserves to be cheered for being part of that epic run against the Clippers to the WCF and that Portland series would have been ours had it not been for Lin.

Last season was just a huge ? and you should not boo someone for exercising their right as a FA (unless you drafted said player, but sometimes you can't blame that player). I mean honestly OKC management sucked and I don't blame KD for leaving, but I'd still boo him if i were an OKC fan.

tl;dr: Cheer him or be neutral at worst.

How about sincere, classy clapping when he is announced, and then over the top sarcastic cheering when he makes a free throw...

I love Dwight. I don't want him on this team but I have a soft spot for big goofy. No hard feelings. If y'all boo him I'll be sad

He CHOSE to play here. He was an upstanding member of the community and a great role model. He often played injured and was an absolute beast when it mattered the most. Cheers should be the only thing he hears.

Why boo him? He's wasn't as good as we hoped he'd be, but he was pretty much as advertised. Some of us didn't listen. He played hard in the playoffs and never really said anything in the media like that douche Chandler Parsons. Cheer the man. He pretty much gave us what he had to give. Let's move on.
