    As always, thanks Doc!

At first I agreed with mogrod that something's cooking, and there may well be, but I can see why the Rox are interested in Eddie, independent of a hypothetical need for a guard. Offense, inconsistent perimeter shooting has been a problem, and even though House isnt' really a PG, that's not such a big deal with us since T-Mac handles the ball so much (see Sura).

Can anyone comment on House's defense?

If we drop anyone, it's either Barrett or Lue. As much as we like AB, House would probably take all his minutes, and I could see JVG cutting him, and CD making a few calls to encourage another team to pick him up.

Not nearly as bad as when they signed Maloney for 7yr only to release him the following yr and soon after sign Moochie to 6 yrs.

Doc Rocket Post! Immediately this will be a Five Star thread! :)

Doc, great to hear about House. It would be very encouraging to finally see a FA look towards Houston over some other teams.

I think it is quite apparent that the Rockets DESPERATELY need outside shooting at the PG spot so House probably knows he will get solid minutes here.

With Sura, House and Barrett manning the PG spot, I think we can safely assume we wont see Ward ANYTIME soon on the floor. And Lue I am sure would be shopped.

That's correct. THANKFULLY the 3rd year ISNT guaranteed! I still cant believe we signed Ward over Damon Jones considering they both make about the same money.

I think cutting AB would be one of the dumbest moves the rockets could make. We need to inject some youth into this team. House can play sg so can sura. I think we should not release AB his play warrants him staying around.

agreed. it seems the best candidate at guard to be jettisoned is lue. he doesn't really fit our offense b/c he doesn't push the ball up the court or make good post entry passes. plus he is a good trading asset since his contract expires this summer. i would prefer to keep AB and see what we can get for lue.

Doesn't make sense for the Rockets to sign House if they like Barrett and Sura at the point. My thinking is maybe the Rockets are thinking of moving TMAC to the 3 spot. Last night the Rockets had Sura Barrett and Tmac on the court in the 4th quarter and the Rockets looked better offensively than they have in a while. House is an upgrade for Barrett and Barrett could still be a great player to come off the bench and relieve House and Sura.

I think this offense would work because opposing defenses would have to play Sura and House Honest. If they collapse on Tmac then he passes to Sura and House and they hit the 3. Also by taking away Bowen or JJ and adding House on the Floor we now have a lineup of TMA MoT Yao Sura, and House and instantly become a faster team. We should be able to push it up a little more. With Yao Tmac and MoT or Howard we actually become better in the frontcourt. We still need an upgrade at PF but it is not glaring. And next year we will also need an upgrade at the 2 or 1. Whichever spot the more talented player is attainable at. This is all speculation and JVG could just want another player he can destroy in his trudge through the mud not ready for primetime offense. Here's to hoping Van Dummy gets a brain.

I definitely think the Rockets should keep AB, but I could see them doing it. Lue doesn't make enough for his expiring contract to be of interest to anyone. OMR, that's an interesting idea.

    Let's keep Barrett.

House is a decent scorer and a good source of steals, but his shooting is not all that great, and he does not rebound AT ALL.

Well I can't say I've watched him play a ton this year, but I did pick him up on my fantasy team for the sole reason that he seemed to be getting a lot of steals. The other thing I liked about him was his high FT%.

His D isn't exactly fantastic. He gets lots of steals because he overplays the steal rather than playing real defense a lot of the time. He's certainly quick, but not startlingly so, and his quickness is least apparent in his lateral movement on D. He's the kinda guy who gets quicker when he's got the ball in his hands, if ya know what I mean. He is a natural scorer, plain and simple. However, the tools are there, and if anyone can get him to play hard on D it's JVG. And even if he can't, it's offense we need not more defensive stoppers.
