There wasn't any "gamble" or "hope" to it at all. Everyone knew the GOP was on board, but the Democrats had principles and ethics that the GOP lacked. They voted for a bill that would have kept the over $9 billion that has simply gone *poof* in Iraq from doing so.

Can ANYONE take this repulsive pig Limbaugh seriously? I mean, read this again:

"Limbaugh:I've got an idea for you liberals. Liberals are always out there saying you "support the troops." Well, then adopt a soldier! Join the Adopt-a-Soldier program at RushLimbaugh.com if you're a lib and you want to say you support the troops. This is a great way to prove it."

Now, I'm not sure how many of you know this, but here is a man who is a proven coward of the highest order - like most all of the so-called "war hawks" (cheney, bush, etc.), like a true coward, when America came to call on him in a time of need (Vietnam), he ran. But get this - on the account of an anal cyst! That's what his deferment stated. If you don't believe it, by all means do the research.

This pig has the nerve to talk about troop support and what's best for them when he couldn't even muster the courage to serve himself. It's amazing to me that someone with a record like this could actually get up in front of the American people and spew such drivel. How can anyone take him seriously?

On another note - wow, first post...I'm thinking it should have at least been in the "Free yao" thread.

what does this have to do with the thread topic? next time please dont waste bandwidth by derailing the thread. thanks in advance.

    back on topic...

if rush really supported the troops wouldnt he offer free subscriptions to members of the armed forces?

i guess piggy boy needs more money for oxycotin and alimony payments for his 3 wives.

what a hypocrite - ralies on about the sanctitiy of marriage and traditional family values when he had 3 divoces to his credit. is on record saying that all illegal drug users should be locked up and than turns out was a serious drug addict himself.

This was a foolish lie on your part. Everyone knows of the billions wasted and lost in Iraq. The thing 87 billion that Kerry voted for had accountability involved, to prevent waste. That version wasn't passed. Kerry was right in the end. The facts have shown that.

Back to the subject at hand. Limbaugh could provide the same thing for the troops for free it is called a charitble donation. Instead he is selling to people and he is keeping the money. He is exploiting the troops to earn a profit.

Last time I checked, Al Franken has been on the USO Tour a bunch of times. Has Rush done the same?

And "Desperate Housewives" regularly brings in ratings that obliterate anything ever shown on PBS. Unfortunately, the measure of something's popularity is not really a good measure of it's value.

Surely it is a terrible thing for a soldier overseas to receive some reading material that he requests or is known to be intrested by.

i disagree. i think it would be good for soldiers overseas to receive reading material that they might be interested in. too bad rush cant just let our brave and valiant soldiers have free subscriptions rather than making listeners pony up $50 "sponsorships" for each soldier.

maybe rush is donating the $ to veterans services or something, but i doubt it.

Yes, I'll babble incessantly about it. ;)
As for lurking, I started before the Francis trade. That was the summer of '99, when this was still ClutchCity.com. I lurked for a looong time. Mango and Behad petrified me, lol!
