I agree with you CH, but as people keep harping on Bev they have to realize a couple of things also.. 1) No player in this league can completely shut down an offensive guys such as Westbrook, Lillard or Harden.. All you can do is try to slow them down when playing them 1 on 1. 2) Now that Bev is getting so much notice on his defense he is getting 2 and 3 picks set on him... Defense is a team game (this is how teams play Harden). I am not saying that Bev is the starting pg, but there are a lot of plays on defense that's not his fault. 3) We all complain about the offense and it has to change, we want go far with that it is right now... It looks great to see Harden get 40, 43, 38 points... But as I stated before it hurts the team. The superstar scoring big points has never worked in the past and it want work now... Jordan, Wilkins, Kobe and even LeBron have tried it and failed. Look at Atlanta, they are winning because of TEAM ball... SA has won because of TEAM ball.. I love Harden, but once we play the good teams such as Portland, Memphis and etc... The iso game will not work.. T_Man
Agreed but we have seen those players you mentioned scored a bunch of points and win to. Especially Michael Jordan. Now on Harden, his assist have gone up this season. Could be 10+ a game if only his teammates knock down those wide open shots. We need a sharp shooter and a true point guard and we would be set.
Totally agree... We have seen these guys win games and we are witnessing one now win games.... But the problem comes in when trying to win a championship.. Want work. We need an offense that is not so heavily dependent upon Harden.. I hate to say this, but I luv what GS has done with Curry. Kerr is using Curry the same that Phil did with Jordan.. It doesn't matter the talent you get if the offense doesn't change. T_Man
Aaron can make shot on his own and shoot better 3 pointer. as of defense, bev might be slightly better than Aaron at the moment, but we can live with that. most importantly, bev can't make his own shot. Morey gotta figure out the solution as quickly as possible for the playoff run. The stats says it all that bev is a good bench guard.
Indeed But Kerr has another wing who is a sharp shooter (Klay is shooting close to 50% from the field and close to 45% from 3. Klay also attacks and finish at the rim with the best of them. He has that stretch we long for here in Houston ( Greene). He also have his defensive hog in the middle and his strong wing defender coming off the bench. It also helps that Iggy can create for others as well, coming off the bench. We don't have all that T-man.
What would Aaron Brooks really do for this team? Make them somewhat better? Maybe. May them into a contender? Most likely no. The Rockets need a perimeter creator outside of Harden, but the Rockets need someone much better than Brooks if they want to become a contender.
I'd love to see that, but McHale clearly has no interest in playing Canaan unless Bev is out with an injury. Even with Bev AND Terry stinking up the joint most nights offensively lately, Canaan still can't get any playing time unless the team is getting blown out.
We need guys that can attack and score when that much attention is on Harden. We are not making other teams pay. Obviously if you can upgrade Ariza to an elite wing that can create, sure, but Ariza is not that bad as compared to Bev. Upgrading PG is the "least resistance" solution to our problem right now.
We are WAAAAAAAAAAY past that time. It should be obvious to everyone that McHale is not going to play Canaan UNLESS Bev or Terry break a leg.
Again, I get what you're saying... But that team is basically the same team from last year, the biggest difference is philosophy and how they are being used... Klay was a total mess last year and this year he's a superstar... Green was basically a bang it boards guy and now he's a stretch 4. Curry was the entire offense last year and this year he's a facilitator and setting people up and getting easier shots by having the offense focus on everyone and not just him. We have the talent on this team, more talent than most teams... It's just not being used right. The same as GS last year and this year.. T_Man
Not that Brooks is available, but that's the problem - anyone much better than Brooks is going to have a high price attached to acquiring them, potentially making the team weaker in another area. I only brought up AB0 because I thought it was ridiculous last season when Lin was getting minutes ahead of him, and even more ridiculous when he got traded for Jordan Hamilton. Brooks produced when called upon for the Rockets last year. Should have kept him around.
Confidence goes a long way in this sport. And those guys are playing with a lot of that T-man. Plus the chemistry they have is a thing of beauty. We don't have that because Morey is always shuffling the lineup. Kerr came into a very good situation because coach J had them boys balling last season, especially towards the end and in the playoffs. Golden State's core is set while we know we will see another change to ours after the all star break. Big homie all that plays a major part to what we are witnessing now.
I don't think this is a good argument. The team has made it out the 1st round once in 18 years. Screw being a contender how about consistently getting out the 1st round. You have to take baby steps.
It's a real shame. He's been one of my favorite Rockets the past couple of years, but he's regressed beyond belief. That knee injury might have just ruined him.
