A lot of flash a la Tim Duncan?

    Please retire from analyzing basketball.

Nah, I think I'll stick around to annoy you :grin::grin:

He does need to retire, though. I think most folks agree with me that he's a piss-poor analyst.

    Dwight's reply to Shaq:

"I don't care what Shaq says. Shaq played the game; he’s done. He’s done. It’s time to move on. He hated the fact that when he played, the older guys were talking about him and how he played. And now he’s doing the exact same thing. Just let it go. There’s no sense for him to be talking trash to me. He did his thing in the league. He was one of the most dominant players to ever play the game. Sit back and relax. You did yours. Your time is up. So I don’t really care. He can say whatever he wants to say.”

(Will you ever get on the same page with Shaq?) “What do we need to be on the same page for? … I have respect for him and what he did for basketball. That’s it. Like I said, he has already did his thing. He played. When my time is up, there’s going to be somebody else who can do everything I can do and probably do it better. Instead of me talking about him, I’ll do my job to try to help him get to where I’m at. I think that’s what guys who have done it before us should do.

(Did you ever have any relationship with Shaq?) “I don’t know what we’ve had.”

(Will you have a relationship with Kareem?) “Me and Kareem have talked. That’ll stay private.”

One of the people in the thread title is a top 50 player all time, future hall of famer and one of the most physically dominant players to ever suit up.

The other is Dwight Howard.......a man coming off of back surgery. As far as I'm concerned Shaq has every right to talk down on Howard. What has Howard accomplished compared to Shaq.....a few individual accolades? He doesn't deserve to be in the conversation imho.

Lopez isn't even better offensively LOL. Its just his team was so bad they no one else who could take those shots. Personally I think Brook Lopez is playing out of position, if they played him at PF he wouldn't have to bang with everyone and the fact that he's softer than tissue wouldn't matter so much.

Agree...... ultimately Dwight has not done a damn thing other than be the best of the worst center era in NBA history.

Hell, he wasn't even the best, Yao dominated him before he got hurt.

He did take a team to the finals and WCF and did get out of the first round more than once. Being there on court counts for a lot. You can not objectively say Yao was a better player than Dwight. At least dwight was on the court and he was a better rebounder and defensive player. Offensively yao was better, but if you can't play what is the point?

Dwight is overrated, he's nothing compared to the all time bigs and would rank very low on an all-time list. Dwight is still pretty much a dunker and pure athleticism based and was used a lot in the pick and roll. His post moves are nothing worthy of mentioning and he still has no all-star type post game but neither did Shaq. Shaq was mostly using his big frame and weight, throw people around and dunk it home. Shaq at least tried to play the big man's game though. I can see where he's coming from but to bring Lopez into the question is way off.

no one's saying howard is better than prime shaq, or even close to prime shaq, but it doesn't change the fact that lopez/bynum are not better than howard and the fact that shaq is either dumb or extremely insecure
