How often does your car get hit in the parking lot . . .

It happens, there are now dudes who go around getting dings out of doors, so it is not big deal, spend about $200 every couple of years and they are all gone.

I don't like having a new car for this reason -- living in fear of the first ding. Once the car is scuffed up a bit, you don't worry about someone opening a door into you.

You looked lonely out there all by yourself.

Does anyone use one of those mobile dent removal services?

 

At work, I always park in a spot with a large beam on the right. That way, whoever parks on my right can't ding my car as he gets out of his car because of the huge beam in the way. And I don't have to worry about the car on my left because usually no one is getting out of the passenger side, since most people drive to work alone.

 

Idk about getting hit by a door. But what sucks if someone dings your car ever so slightly while trying to park or get out. Pretty much SOL if there's even the tiniest bit of a dent.

 

Bought a truck in November and haven't had this happen to me yet. I got hit on the highway, sure, but no dings in the parking lot. I'll take it.

I had it happen once in 4 years when I was in Austin. I've been in California for a year, and I've got 4-5 new scratches/dents. One guy obviously hit my car, then decided to continue into the parking space, leaving a huge scratch from the rear bumper corner almost all the way up to the front doors. Didn't leave a note

I also have a ton of scratches on the driver's side door. It's not from me, since I have keyless entry. People seem not to care here

 

I sat in a restaurant parking lot a few months back and there were several large trucks parked in front of us and an empty space between two of them.

Two different vehicles tried to park in the space and after parking very cramped wacked the truck with their door; it was so narrow both backed up and left. About a minute later another truck reverses out of his space and backs into this same truck. So in the span of less than 10 minutes the truck was hit three times.

 

If I see a BMW or Cadillac parked beside me im definitely going to hit it based on the assumption their a higher middle class parent that abuses their children and treats people like ****

i had someone hit me and leave a note recently. they sent me a check for $830 from the estimate i got and i just kept the money. it is 2 very small chips on a white 370z. i think ill live with that

 

that is a pretty reasonable estimate for a respray. Where was it from?

 

Well, I'm not sure about my car getting hit but I do recall a time in 1999 in Baltimore at a best buy parking lot I caught a couple having sex, didn't think too much of it at the time as I was in a hurry to go back to track practice.
