    Blade,

    What kind of professional dancer?

I play badminton 3 times a week, lift weights 2-3 times a week and run 3-4 times.

Swing Dance. I used to toss girls in the air, dance, teach, and perform.

The aerials were like intensive weight lifting(especially if you had a parnter that wasn't super light.) , and the dancing was very aerobic. It was great exercise. In addition it gave me time to play basketball, etc.

Now it's hard to play basketball because of time, and the winters in NY don't allow for much outdoor play. Most gyms don't have a court either, plus I don't belong to a gym. I would like to take Kung-Fu but don't know if I could afford it right now.

I try to do two to four 20-mile bicycle rides during the week (weather and work permitting) and a 40 - 60 mile ride once on the weekend (once again, weather and work permitting). I rode 44 miles this past Saturday but it sucked! Cold, windy, rainey and I got three flats!

    Indoor soccer
    Outdoor soccer
Shoot hoops...chasing down rebounds running back behind 3pt line...it's really good exercise.
Run about 15-20 miles per week on average.
Running in the Richmond Marathon Saturday! It's my first marathon. Wish me luck! I'm gonna need it.

FB: Yeah, I changed my diet. Cut out junk food, made sure to eat breakfast, and basically started to follow all that basic balanced diet stuff we've heard about for years.

Mrs. JB: Any recommendations on a good yoga studio inside the loop or close to the Rice area? I'd like to add a little flexability work to my cardio/lifting/rehab routine.

I play intramural soccer, run 3-4 times per week, and do push-ups and sit-ups every day.

Oddly, my overall fitness has been declining in the past 2 months. Can't figure out why. I reached the best level of fitness I've been at since high school in September... and now I'm slumping. I'm exercising just as much or more... but getting weaker. Anybody know how this could happen?

I have been slacking off, but picked up again last month, goto the gym 3 times a week. I had signed up and gotten 3 free sessions with a personal trainer, but after my last session is up next week, they're charging $450 for 8 sessions, and I just can't justify that cost.

So, seeing that all of you know so much, maybe someone can help me out here ...

On the machines, which ones are good to be paired together and which ones should be done separately. Right now, she has me doing basically everything ... the leg curls, extensions, the pushy thing, and then the shoulder lift thing, and the back, and the triceps, biceps, etc ... for about 90 mins, go thru everything, and 30 mins cardio before.

Seems like everyone is breaking them into days, so if any of you wouldn't mind giving me some machine names to group together, I can check em out tonight.

    Thanks!

It really depends on what kind of yoga you're interested in. I found a link to a pretty good overview article from Out Smart magazine. It's about two years old, but still seems accurate for the most part:
    http://www.outsmartmagazine.com/issue/i04-00/yogalist.html

One place that isn't listed on there is yogabodyhouston.com. They're in the Milam/Richmond area. They offer the latest fad in yoga -- Bikram or "hot" yoga. It's called hot because the room is heated to around 85-95 degrees. Needless to say, you sweat A LOT. But it also makes your muscles warmer and easier to stretch.

When I first started doing yoga, I took classes at the Yoga Instsitute. They offered a really good introduction to no-frills hatha yoga. Now, I just practice on my own at home. Sometimes I use videos (I prefer the ones produced by Living Arts. You can get them at Whole Foods). But I would recommend taking some classes until you're sure you've gotten the hang of it. :)

I go to the gym during lunch, and work extra after to make up for it. 4 times per week, 30 min weights 1st/ 30 min cardio after.

Since we moved out of our apartments last August I am only exercising once a week for about 2.5hrs (full court basketball).

Previously I was swimming 4-5 nights a week plus basketball. That's why I dropped almost 40lbs in 3-4 months plus changing my diet. :D

I turned my basement into a mini gym and normally lift 3 times a week and walk/run on the treadmill 2 of the 3 night I lift. I try to do it every other night but it never works out that way

Thanks so much Mrs. JB. I've heard good things about Robert Boustany, and I know he deals with injury rehab type people so I'll probably give him a try.

I have no idea what my wife pays to the club every year but whatever it is it is too much. I go, like, never. She does Pilattes there. I call it Pirate School. I'll ask her, what did you do today (smooch smooch) snd she will say, "I went to Pilattes" And I will say, "Did they teach you how to go Argghh! or how to jump from the mast and stick your dagger in the sail slowing your descent?" And she will usually say, "No that is in advanced Pirate School." And then make fun of my gut.

I run 3 to 4 miles 3 times a week, usually at lunch time at work, and sometimes on Sunday morning pushing a twin jogging stroller (with 60 pounds of cargo;)) all the way to Blockbuster and back.

Sometimes I trade a run or two for a game of pick-up basketball at the office.

I lost 30 pounds last year training for a marathon, and now weigh around 155.

I just had high school basketball tryouts today. We ran for the first hour and 15 minutes. It was crazy. I am a freshmen, and I think that I have a good shot of making the varsity team. :) The running was brutal, since I haven't ran in over a month, but I did really good in the shooting and 2 on 2 drills. :)
