dont EVER lease. EVER. its the worst thing to do. all you do is guarantee that the dealership will be making money, and then u got nothin after the lease is over. waste of money.
If the factory warranty is (for example) 3 years, 36000, you may want to purchase the extended warranty (for example 7 years, 100,000 miles)
It is very difficult to refinance a new car in the first couple of years at a reasonable interest rate.
I get that part.. but one of the reasons people buy a new car is they say they need the security that it won't break down.. but some people end buying a new car plus paying $2K extended warrantty when they could also have gotten a higher model/class pre-owned for the same price or same car for a lower price and add $2K to extend the warranty
It is more difficult getting an extended bumper-to-bumper warranty for a used car. If I buy a new car and fork over $1000 to extend the warranty from 36,000 to 100,000 miles, I have the peace of mind that I can essentially drive 5-7 years without worrying about the cost of repairs (for the most part). It is hard to find a used car warranty that will give the same level of comfort. You have to look at warranties the same way you do with insurance. A pain to pay for, but it's nice to have when you need it.
have you actually tried getting extended warranty for a used car? how much did it cost and what's the make and model? what make and model? also I forgot to add that certified pre-owned cars include extended warranty for free..
I have in the past, but not recently. The dealer where I most recently bought my new car does offer a free 3-year 100,000 mile powertrain warranty on used cars, but that is total mileage not additonal mileage. How good is the warranty on the used cars thatis included for free that you are aware of? By the way, I am not arguing about this. To each his own. My personal preference is to buy a new car because I know what I am getting (as long as the dealer isn't unscrupulous). I don't mind paying for an extended warranty for reasons already mentioned.
after doing some more research, i found that extended warranties can be cancelled any time. i'm going to the dealership with my cousin tomorrow to cancel the credit, disability insurance, and warranty. that'll knock off $4400 motherf'n dollars. i'm expecting they're not gonna give up without a fight. anyone have any suggestions or advice? will they threaten to reneg on the contract (if they can even do that)?
I heard that Ford was developing a sedan with a fish tank in the dash. The nav is projected onto the glass when needed.
oh, i know. i'm not worried about that. 4.9% is excellent for their credit. it's all the extra stuff that's making this contract a horrible deal.
Bargin bargin bargin! The key is to set a price and if they don't give it to you, walk out. Don't fall for their bullcrap tactics about them only selling it for so low. Once you walk out, they'll decide to give you your deal. I remember one time my mom when to buy a car and she set a price. Wouldn't budge for any of their tactics. Mom had enough, decided to walk out and thats when they finally gave in to our offer. Its funny because he kept stressing how he couldn't sell it for that low. Well at the end, he went that low.
I'm looking to buy a cheap car from 1-3k. Any hints? ______ How to buy a used car How to inspect a used car
i got screwed over on my extended warranty but my car is a 2004 and $2600 is way too much for an extended warranty.
