I wouldn't touch the "core" players except Battier, but most of the reserves including C-Bud, Hill, Jefferies, picks, etc. are possibilities. An extension is a must, however. Melo is a scoring machine. He would make the Rockets scary offensively.

The Nuggets are pretty much in the same situation as the Raptors last year. So don't think we'll be giving up a Kings Ransom. If he even comes here. And he wants to go to Knicks what the hell do they got to give up.

Wherever he goes Denver won't be getting much. There not gonna get a whole bunch of young talent for Carmelo. He's good but he ain't that good. Denver had its window they know it's closed. Now they're just trying to rebuild not reload.

I think it will depend on what NY/Orlando offers just to gage what the going value will be. Right now...

    Battier or Jeffries
    Martin
    Hill or Bud
    1st rd pick 2011 or 12

I would part with some combo of those players/picks but if anything goes down I would bet it's part of some 3-way action...

Without an extension, I'd give up one of Battier and/or Jeffries(expiring) plus one of CBud/Hill/Patterson/Lee plus 1 pick.

With an extension, then I'd give up a king's ransom.

In a sign and trade I'll give up anything
But I would only give up Hill or Patterson and fillers if it's within the season ..

This. It seems like he has attitude problems and his defense is not something that people seem excited about. I thought DM said that the Rockets will get back to a defense oriented team?

Wouldn't give up Morey's paperweight for him without an extension. If he re-ups...

Wouldn't even think of giving up more than one of our top four players unless more was coming back.

Brooks, Hill, and picks I'd pull the trigger on. Not Brooks AND Martin or a deal of that ilk.

Denver won't command a lot for Melo if he hasn't reupped by the trade deadline.

People expect him to play the free agent market in 2011 regardless, thus he's a playoff rental. I expect him to be traded for expiring contracts, draft picks, and perhaps a 9th or 10th guy off the bench.

Even that is kinda rich for a rental.

We must keep our 1st. core intact.
1st Core--Martin, Brooks Yao Ming, Budinger, Scola
2nd Core-- Lowery, Hill, Lee, Patterson
    3rd Core---Miller, Battier, Hayes, Taylor
    4th Core--Jefferies,

The reason being - If we don't like Melo Anthony and his attitude we can still have a reasonable team.
For sure I don't like Anthony and think he is a bad mix with Yao. He will throw tantrums when the ball is passed to Yao and not to him!!
    NO RENTALS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:p

Wow, he did have alot of talent around him, they did great in the season. saying that, I know the regular season does not count if you can't win play off games. But they went against the EVEN MORE stacked Lakers. The 2 time CHAMPS!

The difference between our 7 game go with the Lakers and the Nuggets of this year against them, is that the Rockets were so completely different in talents they had trouble, but eventually killed the Rockets in the end after adjusting.

The Nuggets and Lakers of this year, are so similar: Great shooting guards, but Kobe takes Melo, Great PF/Center but Gasol takes Nene and Martin. Great Point guards, Chauncy might take Fisher, but we can all Agree Fisher ALWAYS heats up in the play offs. The bench? Please.. They were out matched from the begining.

Whew, the point is, it's not Melo's fault the Lakers were just better than the Nuggest in every way, even if bya little. I would LOVE to have Melo because given the right circumstance with Yao, who can out match everyone in the league when healthy, Brooks who clearly had an advantage over many point guards (Fisher in the playoffs), and our nearly unmatched bench and role players who have HEART, Melo WILL shoot us off to a championship contender.

I can't believe just because he can't beat the insane Lakers, he's a failure.

A conditional second round pick in 2022 plus a NBDL player to be named later and Joey Dorsey.

I wonder if there are players, superstar players, that we've run stats on, and wouldn't want. Or if any superstar is just a superstar and we value them all.

Myself, I'm not a big Melo fan.

I voted anything except Budinger in an attempt to skew the results awkwardly in a quite stupid and poorly made poll.

I'd give up absolutely none of our core players if I thought he wouldn't sign an extension.
