They'll say anything to hype Dmo up. What a shame. Going through so much lengths to hype up an average role player.
That is when he was playing center all the time. Early in the year, he was playing PF, and he had really great defensive numbers. When he played center, he was pretty bad. That'swhy everyone started saying he was not a center and should play just power forward.
DD took it further by calling him a Super Role player. Lol came up with a new title just for Dmo. Only on the GARM coach.
Or it could be because they had just acquired Tobias Harris and had buyer's remorse about also acquiring DMo to play an overlapping position. The injury was a convenient excuse. If you recall, DMo even referred to the medical examination as a "joke".
DMo's greatest strength was his post offense. Where did JBB primarily use him? At the top of the key. After returning from injury, DMo had conditioning issues. Instead of gradually increasing his minutes to get DMo into game shape, do you remember how JBB handled his minutes?
Why is that so funny? Dwight was our defensive anchor, and when he was injured, DMo assumed that role. Was there a dramatic decline in our defensive effectiveness? DMo can't play above the rim, but there are other ways to protect the paint. If you recall, he was one of the league leaders in charges drawn.
Except that's not what I claimed. There's a difference between playing at a level that's "not ineffective" and his 2015 level.
It's always funny when an idiot's claims are directly contradicted by box scores. Key minutes on a WCF team? In games 2-5 against the Warriors in the WCF, his minutes distribution was 8, 8, 4, 3. Yeah....key minutes. And no, he didn't earn the minutes. Unless by "earn", you mean "stayed healthy". But then again, it's easy to stay healthy when you plan a grand total of 90 minutes during the course of the entire regular season.
No that was not the case at all. I don't care what DMo said because all season long he was in and out of the lineup. Remember he was sat down because his back wasn't fully recovered before. He was clamoring about how he was 100% ready then. Posting all the videos of him working out. And do you truly believe that doctor is going to jeopardize his license by lying about Dmo's medical conditions at that particular time. Come on dude you're reaching if you think so.
So let me play you for a minute her. Or he played him more around the perimeter because he wasn't 100% healthy and he didn't want to risk getting the big fella injured. Remember when he 1st got back in the starting position JBB utilized him in the post a lot. And then Dmo's back didn't respond well so he ended up missing I think 2 weeks or so. But I guess you wasn't watching then huh big Dawg.
That is EXACTLY what he is, a Role player that makes the entire team better. Mario Elie did it, Robert Horry did it, Shane Battier did it...Dmo is that level of player - in his own style. He is a glue guy that does a little bit of everything and because of him, the play of the entire team is elevated. That is a super role player, and it is EXACTLY what Dmo is...not a star....but a very important role player. DD
Why would the doctor's license be in jeopardy? The issue was whether or not the doctor felt that the injury might be a long-term issue. That's his opinion. And as such, there's no reason why his license would be in jeopardy. According to DMo, the Pistons had access to his full medical records before the trade, and after the trade, the examination he received was a "joke". To me, that sounds like buyer's remorse (because the had just acquired Tobias Harris and were giving up a lottery pick for DMo) with a convenient out-clause. The alternative (which you seem to believe) is that the Pistons ran additional tests, found issues that the Rockets' medical staff didn't find, and cancelled the trade b/c of the severity of the issues. However, these "issues" weren't severe enough to prevent DMo from averaging over 15 mpg for the rest of the season. In other words, one medical staff thought the injury could be a long term issue (reason enough to void the trade) while the other medical staff thought he was ready to play immediately. Which scenario seems more plausible?
So James Harden doesn't get any credit that year for his team playing at the level that they played. Interesting And no sir Dmo did not make everyone better. Mario Elie and Robert Horry did not make those championship Rockets teams better either. Hakeem the Dream made those team better. How dare you say otherwise.
Now if talking about doctors, if these doctors are the best of the best, and from NY, I have no doubt they were involved in lawsuits over spinal injuries and helped to collect millions of dollars for their clients, so in no way they will ever clear a player with similar injuries as they worked before, ( they will easily loose credibility in courtrooms). Almost every car accident in New York city is spinal problem, so no I don't trust there opinion.
Saying he lost his position to Tobias Harris seems more of an insult than saying he lost his position to injury.
DD come on man. To even mention DMO in the same breath as a Robert Horry ect is total blasphemy. Those were proven players who had many years of success.
At some point you're just going to have to realize the shortcomings of a great deal of your audience and stop trying. It's why I largely don't discuss player evaluation with them anymore. There's simply no point. Some people just don't basketball.
