I probably get less than 1/2 gallon of total liquids each day, much less plain water, which I hate. The only time I drink water is when I'm thirsty from a workout, or when I put no calorie/no sugar flavoring in it. I sometimes wonder how much better I'd feel and look if I got the proper amount of water, but the truth is that it makes me miserable just to try
I drink a ton of iced tea nowadays.. either unsweetened, or the stuff that's lightly sweetened (Honest Tea usually.. about 1/3 to 1/4 the sugar of Arizona junk...and it's sugar, as opposed to corn syrup)
about half a gallon and a pint every day.. which is just two servings of 8 ounces of water more than the recommended daily amount..
i do lots of water..... about 3+ liters regularly and since i'm a girl, i do pee alot. but it's pretty clear all the time so i'm healthy. if i'm on a roll, i could go to the bathroom ~hourly. kinda annoying but it's a nice break at work too. drinking water, esp warm (not ice), is very good for the body. and yes, i'm chinese.
I don't really know how much I drink. I usually drink out of ~16 oz cups, and about 8 of them a day sounds about right. So I'd guess about a gallon a day, maybe more on days where I'm really thirsty. I usually don't drink anything but water, so it isn't very hard.
One of my roommates in college got three kidney stones in a year and a half before she decided to change her diet/beverage consumption. THREE.
I'll keep that in mind next time, and spread the word to the hundreds of people that do the same everyday.
I have a 64 ounce bottle that I fill up and go through each day, and another 16 ounce bottle I use while working out, so around 80 a day. 10 "glasses" I guess, although I've never known a glass of water that was only 8 ounces... I go to the bathroom probably 6-10 times a day. I doubt I could do 2 gallons.
Yeah, I remember one summer I went to California to watch the Rockets in the summer leagues. I had just passed two kidney stones and had a herniated disc in my back that I eventually had surgery on. Oh, that was an awesome summer. I don't ever want kidney stones again.
