I'm a shift worker. I work 12 hour shifts, either 5am to 5pm or 5pm to 5am. Trust me, no one has odder sleeping patterns than I do.
This has been a real problem for me lately. I go to bed at 3 am and get up by 8:00 am. New resolution is to stop that. If you are sleep deprived your hunger will increase. I believe their is research that proves it. And I'm finding that to be true.
Yesterday I fell asleep at eight in the morning and slept til four thirty yesterday afternoon. I wasn't able to fall asleep last night, and am thinking right now that I'm going to be able to make it all day today without sleeping. If that doesn't get me back on a halfway normal sleep schedule, Nyquil hopefully will.
five to six during the week....occassionally a little more, occassionally a little less. I got like nine hours Friday night/Saturday morning. It rocked! The only problem was that my body really seemed to like it. It wanted more than usual the next night too. I guess you just get used to less or more...depending on how much you allow yourself to take. Someone once told me that the optimal amount is around four hours, and that if you sleep beyond that, you basically need another four hours. Something to do with sleep cycles. Definitely not my area of expertise.......
