    OK, I'll digress here.

I overpaid my general contractor about $150 for a job.

That got me thinking. A few years back, I would have stopped on the freeway if I saw $150 laying on the ground. I'm pretty quick and brash and my vehicle is pretty noticeable especially with hazards on. At this point in my life, not so much.

Also, my GC just had a heart attack and was calling in all invoices. I miscalculated on the amount but the job was a super pain in the butt, he is in the hospital, and it's not a huge amount of money. So it would have been a hassle to both of us, and sort of classless for me, to get that cash back. Instead, I just tipped him. Smallest tip I've ever given at .2% but you don't usually tip your construction guy. It builds good will and helps the guy out.

If you overpaid a contractor $150 for a $75000 job are you really that enveloped in thought about it? That seems ridiculous.

That’s my point. I’m not. But some people might be.
