Chase Budinger is a fine bench player...

I wish he would play some defense on freaking Batum though...

He will never be known for his defensive. I think we can say that for sure.

13 shot attempts by the Chase most of any players including the Blazers..... good but he has to take it to the hoop

he's played pretty well today, but realistically, your +/- on our team right now is determined by how many minutes you play with lowry.

I thank him for his scoring and his 2-7 bricks from three, 4 rbs and 1 assist.

As I understand it, adjusted +/ -- at least the variant published on basketballvalue.com -- tells you almost nothing over 12 games.

Bud looks so weak driving to the basket. He should try to jam it everytime so that he can get to the ft line

why would you use a stat that requires about 150 games to produce anything productive over a 10 game window? heh

I'm using 2 years and 10 games worth of data.

He was basically even in 09-10

He was second on the team last year

    He is 3rd this year

Not saying he's a star, he's actually a disappointment, but those that want him relegated to the end of the bench are wrong, he a productive rotation player.

Chase has his deficiencies, but why is it so hard for some people to give a guy credit when he has a good game. Tonight was a good game for him.

One of the knocks on Bud is he wasn't being aggressive enough. 16 shots tonight is a good sign. Another knock was he has been camping at the 3 point line. 5-9 inside the arc tonight. Over half his shots came inside the three point line. another good sign.

Defensively, he's not great. It's also fair to rag on him when Batum is eating him up. But then he makes a nice play to draw a charge on Batum with the Rockets up 93-90 in the closing stages of the 4th quarter and no one in the game thread mentions it.

    what about Batum.....
..... I don't recall Budinger stealing, assisting or blocking it on regular basis. Rebouding is not his forte either.
Sure you can say he is a second rounder.
I liked Landry a lot more.

The thing that's always frustrated me with Chase is whenever he has one of his good 20 pt games, his opponent scores 30.

I lol'ed I see what you did there but it won't work.
because every time you say something about a player, that player was out of the rotation, and traded really fast. Way to go. History is not on your side.
