I pay about $130 a month for NYC Time Warner's "D Best" package, which includes Road Runner. (Plus, I upgraded to their DVR box.)
That is the same thing they told me mid year 03 about both DVR and ESPN HD. I'm hopefull but not holding my breath.
Hate to quote myself but I you may be right DHB. I found this on the time warner site... http://www.timewarnercable.com/houston/products/cable/dvr.html
i tried Cuban's ZOOMTV but cancelled the same day...... false advertising. Their installer told me i needed an antenna to get local channels. Thanx but no thanx.
Anyone know how much Time Warner's sports package is? I want NBA TV. I really don't want speed, the outdoor network, etc., though.
they don't break it out specifically on my bill they just lump it in with the digital extras package which is 48.99. check you bill and subtract and that should give you a ball park.
Too damn much... I think its around $70/month, but we do have HBO...If it didn't rain so much in Houston/Dallas, I'd get satellite... I also pay $50/mo. for DSL...
I have TV MAX cable, which is free in my townhome complex (Actually, paid through home owners association dues). I get HBO, SHO, and MAX analog from $69 cable box that I bought off ebay. I hardly watch the pay channels because I have Netflix and would rather watch movies on DVD. My DSL/phone bill is $49.99. I don't use my home phone that much so I got them to remove call waiting, call notes, caller id, etc. I just have a bare phone line. I use my cel phone mostly. Thats why my phone/DSL bill is so cheap.
I called and it was only $4 so I added it. Now I get to watch the Drazen Petrovich special when I get home, and then drool in anticipiation for the weekend Bill Simmons picks all the programming.
At least they even offer NBA TV. I just moved from Kingwood. Kingwood cable was for sale for about 3 years and in that timeframe they spent zero money on upgrades, so oher cable and satellite companies really blew by them. I couldn't even get sportss PPV packages like ESPN gameplan or the MLB package there, and there was definitely no NBA TV Cebridge bought them out recently and they aded a couple of new channels, but nothing like what Time Warner offers in terms of quanity or special features like i-control. Now once we have dvr's, ESPN HD, the NFL network and NFL Sunday Ticket the world will be a perfect place.
