funny you put it that way, I feel dirty not going to my regular barber. I don't even have a regular doctor.
15+tip ranging from $0 to $5 depending on how good it is. My guy is an old italian bloke named luigi, but recently he hasn't been very good. Whenever someone is waiting, he hurries so im trying to find a new place. When I was in Beijing, I had my hair cut for 18 cents at a university barbershop, and it was pretty good too. When I was shanghai, i went to a pretty flaming stylist place for $3.50, but I got a head and shoulder massage from a sometimes cute girl and then had my hair cut from an always flaming guy (and then my head washed and massaged again by a sometimes cute girl). Luigi has yet to give me a massage or treat me with the tender love I deserve, but I remain hopeful.
Nah, I'm not that good. Two of them are lesbians... ... the third is a bio-sister. It's a great place though. They also have a ladies salon.
Ya, in China you get great service for a $10 cut, next time I go back to China I will need that service again. I had head shoulder message, than they gave a full back and leg message. Hair cut styling and very nice tea, all this for 75 yuan which was like around $9. Wonder how much would they charge for this kind of service here if any place even have it.
sometimes cute, sometimes not. There were 7 girls there, 4 were cute, 1 so so, 2 were notthecase. ANd there is also a place in NYC chinatown that gives the massage treatment too for about $20, but the haircut guy isn't flaming.
Does anyone here go to Hair By Tony's II on Bellaire near HWY6, across from Fiesta? If I'm in Houston visiting my family I'll stop by there for a fade, and I've been going there since like 96. The Vietnamese owners have been very successful in that location. Best $5 haircut in Houston. In Austin I go to the Great Clips on Wells Branch. It's $12 - $2 corporate discount.
The thing I hate about supercuts is you never get the same guy twice and if you request a guy there is a surcharge. I like sitting down and not having to tell the lady anything.
At the barber shop Enzo: Oh Jerry. Jerry: Oh hi Enzo. Enzo: Oh, you've come for the haircut. Jerry: No, actually I was just... Enzo: It's my day off, but I take care of you anyway because you're my favorite customer. You've been with me for so long. You're so loyal. Jerry: Well I, if it's your day off I really... (tries to leave) Enzo: (He pulls Jerry into the barber chair. Jerry is trying to get away but can't.) Eh, what's the difference. It takes 10 minutes. Jerry, today I'm going to do something special for you. Jerry: Well I don't want to take too much off. Enzo: Hey who's your barber, eh? You tell the joke, I cut the hair. Man: Gino, you've outdone yourself this time. This is the best haircut I've ever had. At Jerry's apartment. Jerry is sitting down on the couch with a really bad haircut. He is holding a mirror. Jerry and George are looking in disbelief at the haircut. George: He massacred you. You look like you're five years old. Jerry: What if I shampoo? Sometimes a shampoo helps. George: You've got to start seeing someone else. Get out of this relationship. Jerry: I can't. He loves me. He says I'm his most loyal customer. Plus he's right there on the corner. I'd have to pass him every day when I go by. George: You gotta do it. Jerry: I can't, I can't. I'd break his heart.
I usually go to a $5 a cut place, and tip $2 (that's 40%!), now I'm thinking about going to one of those semi-fancy joints because of the cleanliness factor, I'm not sure if that really matters too much though.
My place gives a brief facial massage on top of a hot towel with Eucalyptus fragrance .... or something.
#1 fade at a Vietnamese place I go to either in downtown (by that Fiesta off of 59/288) or on Hilcroft/Richmond for $3 + $2 tip in which I go about every 2 weeks. My gf b****es to me that I dont pay jack squat compared to her spending almost $100 every 6 months for her's
about $8 for the cut, $5 for the tip The Image on Bellaire in good ol' Alief. I still go there even though I've moved. Probably been going there for about 9 years.
I either do it myself, or have someone do it with an at-home clipper, or I get it done for 8 bucks. I chose the 5 to 10 to cover my tracks.
