Xbox One will be my main purchase. I'm not usually a heavy shopper during Christmas unless it's for winter clothes. If Apple does come out with a haswell iMac, I may get that also. Aside from that it'll be the usual secret santa that I do every year.

Oh ok. So $6,000 a year in annual salary? Yeah, that's crazy.

It's actually average one, I work for nearly 4800$ a year and that's pretty regular. Freakin country, you could make it in a month easily doing what I do (builder/dyer).

For those saying 'i gave up on xmas gifts' i just wanted to remind you guys that this thread wasn't meant to be a 'what xmas gifts are you buying'

I said holiday season because of the sales that go on then, and because most people I know wait till then to buy their electronics because of the sales.

Those things I mentioned in the OP are for myself, not any xmas gifts (I don't celebrate it).

    well, in that case...

I know it's just constant exposure to ads but it seems everyone these days is looking to buy a new TV every year. Do they really go out of style that fast?

People who save up and only spend on holidays or go out of their way to do something extra special because ' It's valentines day' are the drones that keep bank fatties like me fat. Be a little exciting, give gifts spontaneously and don't buy into these pyramid schemes. I'm known for my generosity but never give gifts when I'm supposed to, and my many loved ones know and appreciate the sentiment behind this.

I know society would be a better place without forced gift giving events. It is a kindergarten concept for unromantics. Maybe wedding receptions should be an exception, but most I go to have a no gift policy.
